Chapter 321 Employment Prospects

They didn’t have the energy left to go out and play.

Nina tired out the dogs, and she was worn out too, her 1tle face flushed pink.

She hugged a dog’s neck, affectionately nuzzling up to it

Pressed against the totally resigned big dog, she announced happily to Chloe, “Auntie Chloe, doggy love me.”

Chloe laughed out loud.

In Nina’s world, everyone-and every dog-loved her.

Anyone who didn’t was just a bad guy.

Where this over-the-top confidence came from was a mystery.

Chloe smiled at her and agreed, “Yes, yes, the doggy loves you the most.”

Nina, loved by the dog, also declared her love for it. “Doggy, Nina love you!”

The two dogs and Nina exchanged love in the yard, with adults checking on them now and then.

Under the setting sun, the moment was filled with warmth.

After playing in the yard with the dogs for a good while Nina was called by Amelia to eat.

Looking at the table full of delicious food, Nina blinked her big eyes and tugged on Amelia’s clothes. “Mommy, eat candy?”

Nina had been muttering about candy since morning, bringing it up every little while.

Amelia ignored her candy question and just put a small pie in her clean little hands.

“Nina, try this pie. They made it especially for you. See if it’s yummy.” Amelia directly diverted Nina’s attention with something else.

The other adults at the table also chatted with Nina about other things-no one acknowledged her original

request.

Nina was a little unhappy, but she was soon successfully distracted.

After dinner, Nina watched some TV.

Amelia put on an old cartoon called “The Gummi Bears for her.

It was quite an old cartoon with a good storyline. Amelia wasn’t sure if Nina could understand it.

But Nina sat on the sofa, watching quite intently.

The cartoon was pretty long.

About halfway through, Nina turned her head and saw the housekeeper heading out with the trash.

In a second, she hopped down from the sofa. “Wait mel

In her hurry, Nina didn’t even put on her shoes and ran barefoot.

The housekeeper was going to take out the trash.

Nina wanted to go along.

Back when Nina lived with just Amelia, Amelia took out the trash every day.

It was Nina’s favorite time, and she always went along.

After tossing the trash outside, Amelia would take her to play at the square for a bit.

Seeing Nina’s eagerness, Amelia called after her, “Nina, put your shoes on first! You can only go out to take out the trash if you’re wearing shoes-otherwise, no.”

Hearing this, Nina hurried off to find her little shoes, which were always left all over the place.

She ran around looking for them while asking the housekeeper to wait.

Finally found both shoes, but Nina was already in a hurry.

She grabbed them but didn’t go to Amelia.

Instead, she went to William. “Grandpa, help me.”

Nina knew how to put on her shoes at daycare, but at home, she preferred not to.

If only Amelia were around, she’d do it herself at home, too.

But if William, Daniel, Benjamin, or any other adult were present, Nina absolutely would not do it herself.

She loved being waited on.

William chuckled, picked her up, and helped her put on her shoes.

Nina wiggled her chubby feet, looked at them, then at William.

She gave William a loud kiss on the cheek. “Grandpa, I love you.”

William beamed, delighted by the kiss. “I love Nina, too

Having coaxed William, Nina happily followed the housekeeper out to toss the trash.

She insisted on helping.

The housekeeper, not daring to let her carry anything heavy, gave her two empty bottles to hold.
