Chapter 32 Wake Up
Nina was being whisked further and further away.

Back at home, Amelia, who was still convalescing in bed, felt an odd sense of unease gnawing at her chest.
Alone in the house, she couldn’t put her finger on what was bothering her.
First off, she went to check on Benjamin.
He was still in a deep coma.
Summoning her nerve, Amelia put her finger under his nose,
“Still breathing,” she mumbled, ruling him out as the cause of her jitters.
With that worry off the table, Amelia couldn’t sit still any longer. Despite her injuries, she made her way out.
I have to see my Nina!
In her rush, Amelia didn’t notice that as soon as she left, Benjamin, on the bed, slowly opened his eyes.
The moment he did, his brows furrowed tightly.
It was like his head was suddenly filled with a bunch of stuff.
And there was this soft, kiddie voice echoing in his head, calling him “Daddy”.
Benjamin raised his hand and rubbed his temples. How weird! I don’t remember having a kid.
“Mr. Graham! You’re awake! Stay put. We’ll do another check-up!” Just as Benjamin was rubbing his temples and trying to sit up, the medical team keeping an eye on him noticed the change.
They rushed in and gave him a thorough once-over.
Benjamin, though a bit annoyed, played the good patient and cooperated.
Soon enough, the check-up was done, and as always, nothing seemed wrong.
“Alright, got it,” Benjamin said coolly, signaling the medical team to leave.
But Norman Miller, the lead doc, smiled and said, “Mr. Graham, I can’t leave just yet. Your father told me to take care of Ms. Parker till she’s all healed up.”
A look of confusion flashed across Benjamin’s cold eyes. “Who’s Ms. Parker?”
Norman was totally thrown off. How could Benjamin not know his own wife?
But being the professional he was, he smiled and explained, “Ms. Parker’s a great actress. She’s also little
Nina’s mom!”
Norman thought he’d nailed it.

But the next second, Benjamin asked slowly, “Who’s little Nina?”
Norman barely managed to keep his smile.
He figured Benjamin was pulling his leg.
As the new doctor for the Graham family, he didn’t know Benjamin had no clue about his daughter.

For the fat paycheck from the Grahams, he forced a smile and continued, “Little Nina’s your daughter.
“She’s two and a half, about three feet tall, and a bit chubby at around 33 pounds.
“She went to an ECE class with Mr. Daniel Graham today and isn’t back yet.”
Norman answered every question in great detail.
But Benjamin still looked confused.
“Okay, thanks.” He didn’t grill Norman anymore.
After sending Norman off, he took a shower in the bathroom.
Being a bit of a clean freak, he’d been itching for a proper wash for days.
After the shower, all spruced up, Benjamin plopped down on the living-room sofa and called Daniel.
Daniel was going nuts looking for Nina.
Glancing at the call alert, he angrily hung up.
He snapped, “Benjamin. Seriously? Calling me now. Can’t he see I’m waiting for another call?”
All wrapped up in waiting for the kidnapper’s call, Daniel ignored Benjamin’s calls and even mumbled a few
curses.
“Hey, Daniel…” Lucas, who was with Daniel, nudged him.
Looking a bit hesitant, he warned, “Maybe you should take the call. Benjamin seems to be awake. You’re gonna be in hot water if you keep hanging up on him…”
