She’d thrown plenty of tantrums, but her crying change nothing-Amelia simply wouldn’t let her out.

By the fourth day, Nina’s temperature had finally stabilized. Her cough had weakened to just the occasional sniffle, so Amelia decided it was finally safe to take her out.

Benjamin came along, too.

The family of three went to an outdoor adventure park where kids could drive all sorts of vehicles, even a tank.

Nina was ecstatic the moment they arrived.

With Benjamin holding her, she sat in a giant excavator and dug sand, charged forward in a tank, and even tried a water truck and a fire engine.

Nina was having an absolute blast.

“Daddy! I so good!” she cheered.

“Yes, you’re the best,” Benjamin replied, staying by her side the whole time.

Amelia, meanwhile, stayed put, busy capturing the moment with her phone.

She didn’t have half the stamina Benjamin did.

She just didn’t have the energy to keep up with Nina.

After hours of play, Nina’s little outfit was soaked through with sweat three times in a row, and Amelia had to change her outfit each time.

When Nina still wanted more, Amelia finally stopped her.

She said, “That’s enough for today, sweetie. You’re out of dry clothes. We’ll come back tomorrow, okay?”

“No,” Nina declared, trying to walk off.

Amelia gently held her little arm. “Nina, you’ve played all day. Any more and you’ll get too tired.

“If you get too tired, you could get sick again. Then it’s yucky medicine and no going outside. Do you want that?”

Of course, Nina didn’t want to be sick.

But she still wanted to play.

Amelia always tried talking sense to her first, and when hat failed, she resorted to action.

This time was no different.

Nina was carried back to the car in tears.

Even on the drive home, she refused to give up, patting he car window with her chubby hands. “See

Grandma,” she pleaded.

Amelia hesitated.

Nina was off her medicine and mostly better, but she wasn’t fully recovered and could still be contagious.

While Amelia was still thinking it over, Nina had already video-called Jane on her smartwatch.

Wiping her tears on the screen, she said, “Miss Grandma”

Hearing that, Jane was ready to come get them immediately.

“Nina, I miss you, too!” Jane said. “I’ll come get you right now.”

Jane missed not just Nina, but Amelia as well.

Amelia had been so busy caring for Nina since their return that she hadn’t visited the Wilson Villa, and Jane missed her terribly.

At Jane’s insistence, Amelia finally directed the driver to the Wilson Villa.

The moment they arrived, Nina toddled over and threw herself into Jane’s lap.

Still upset about the couple of light smacks she’d gotten on their way out of the park, Nina immediately tattled to Jane, pointing to her own bottom to show where she’d been spanked.

Knowing Nina was a little tattletale, Amelia tattled right back.

“She is getting more willful. She’s been fussing nonstop, Amelia said. “She hasn’t been eating or sleeping well, and she refuses to play at home-only wants to go out.”

“Mommy, no say!” Nina cried, tugging on Amelia’s leg. “Nina good!”

She was trying her best to be on her best behavior in front of Jane.

Their bickering made Jane smile.

She hugged Nina, then pulled Amelia into a hug, too.

“You’ve lost weight,” Jane said softly.

Amelia nodded. “Nina was sick for a while. She lost a couple of pounds because she wouldn’t eat properly when…”

“I meant you’ve lost weight, dear,” Jane clarified, stroking her cheek with tender concern.

Everyone adored Nina, and Jane was no exception.

But Amelia would always come first.

After some cuddles with Nina, Jane let Barry take her to play.

Barry, finally able to be close to Nina again, was thrilled and promptly bragged to Lucien.
