Chapter 24 Digital Hate

Daniel sent a photo over.

Daniel replied, “She finished ‘unpacking’ them.”

Lucas typed, “That’s… quite thoroughly unpacked!”

“No matter, I’ll buy more! I’m almost done with the stuff on my plate.”

“Wait for me to come see Nina in person.”

While the two men chatted on WhatsApp, Nina and Nelson were also huddled together, whispering secrets. As she whispered, Nina used her chubby little hands to check Nelson for any new injuries.

“Nelson, hurt?”

“No hurts. He hasn’t hit me these past two days.” Nelson proactively lifted his shirt to show her.

After inspecting him, Nina felt a little reassured. She tilted her chubby face up, thought for a moment, then said in her soft, milky voice, “Nelson, come Nina home! Nina home, this big!”

Nina spread her little arms wide, trying to show Daniel just how big her home was!

She and her mom used to live in single rooms or one-bedroom apartments. But now, her new home was so big that even the bathroom was larger than her previous entire living space! Nina found it all incredibly novel.

Hearing her invitation, a wave of warmth spread through Nelson’s heart. He lowered his head and said softly, “Nina, thank you.”

Before Nina appeared, Nelson hadn’t had a single playmate. And after Nina came into his life, he didn’t need any other playmates. Having Nina was enough.

The two little ones played very well together. When evening came and it was time to part, Daniel, now experienced and skilled, coaxed the reluctant Nina as usual, “Be good, sweetheart. Let’s go home for dinner first. We can come back to play tomorrow!”

Daniel managed to coax Nina home. Amelia, who had been filming, hadn’t returned yet. Her delay wasn’t due to work.

She had just stepped out of the second-floor changing room when Zoe cornered her at the stairwell.
