Chapter 199 Benjamin’s Comfort
Benjamin stood in front of Amelia, pulling the utterly bewildered Amelia into his arms.
His embrace made her feel even more secure and at ease.
Amelia’s face pressed against him, her hands unconsciously clutching his clothes tightly.
She stammered, “Benjamin. What did Ms. Wilson just say?”
Amelia had heard it clearly, but she still found it hard to believe.
Benjamin’s big hand stroked her hair, again and again, soothing her emotions.
“Freya said you’re her sister.
“You’re the long-lost little daughter of the Wilson family.
“Actually, the fake Mia was chosen to help treat Mrs. Wilson.
“After losing her little daughter, Mrs. Wilson’s mental state deteriorated. While searching for her daughter, she nearly died several times.
“To stabilize her, the family followed the advice of a psychologist-who was also Mrs. Wilson’s friend, Emma-and found a child who somewhat resembled the real Mia.
“But Mrs. Wilson, along with Freya and Nathan, never gave up on the real Mia.
“In their hearts, their sister is only the true Mia.”
Benjamin was usually a man of few words, but now, with Amelia, he took his time explaining the Wilson family’s story, detail by detail.
He spoke while continuing to comfort her.
In his low, steady narration, Amelia’s heart gradually settled.
“Benjamin, I always thought… I was abandoned.”
Amelia’s heart no longer felt adrift, but a faint, lingering ache still settled in her chest.
She closed her eyes and, like Nina, buried her whole face into him.
Her voice sounded muffled. “Turns out I wasn’t abandoned.”
Benjamin nodded firmly. “Of course you weren’t abandoned. From the moment you were

“Your mom, your sister, your brother-they all love you very much. Amelia, don’t be afraid. You can trust them.” Benjamin encouraged her softly.
He paused, then added, “If you’re not comfortable treating them as family, that’s okay too.
“Amelia, you already have family. Nina and I-we’re your family.”
Benjamin had never said so many comforting words in his life.
In the past, when Daniel was upset and came hugging him, crying loudly, Benjamin would just expressionlessly take him to the mall and let him buy whatever he wanted.
When dealing with a heartbroken Daniel, he only threw money at the problem-never coaxed with words.
But with Amelia, he not only spoke so many soothing words.
After finishing, he even gave her another gift.
This gift, like the crystal high heels last time, sparkled brightly.
It was a gemstone necklace.
Amelia wasn’t used to luxury items, but she could tell at a glance that the necklace was worth a fortune.
“Benjamin, why are you giving me another gift?” she asked.
He replied, “I read somewhere that when someone’s having a hard time, a gift can cheer them up.”
This time, Benjamin didn’t say he just happened to see it and bought it casually.
He put the necklace on Amelia himself.
Amelia tilted her face up, looking at his handsome face that still showed little expression, then at how focused he was while fastening the necklace for her.
At that moment, Amelia could no longer fool herself.
She blinked, absolutely certain-she had fallen for him. She had feelings for Benjamin.
She mumbled, “Benjamin, I said I’d cook for you, go to the movies with you, go out together and have fun… I haven’t done any of that yet.”

Amelia blinked as she gazed at his handsome face. Her thoughts had already shifted from the family revelation to Benjamin.
She asked him, “Once we take Nina home, I can cook for you first. Do you still want to eat?”
