Amelia stared blankly as she wondered about it. She thought about it for a long while, and the more she tried, the more her head buzzed.

“Forget it.” She looked away and stopped giving herself a hard time.

After sleeping for so long, her stomach was already empty.

She needed to get something to eat.

In the Graham family, the kitchen always had food ever after mealtime.

Amelia got out of bed quietly and left the room to get herself some lunch.

After she walked out, Benjamin, on the bed behind her, lid not wake up like some male lead in a drama who’d been pretending all along.

Benjamin was truly fast asleep.

His breathing blended evenly with Nina’s. Just from the way the two of them slept, anyone could tell they were related by blood.

They slept until after three, when Nina started dreaming again.

She dreamed that Ryan and William were going out together in a car.

She wanted to go too.

William picked her up and took her into the car with him, and Ryan did not get in.

Then, the car caught fire and exploded.

Nina was so frightened by the explosion in her dream that she shut her eyes tight and burst into loud sobs.

Benjamin, who once slept through earthquakes without waking, now had improved sleep thanks to Nina’s training.

The moment Nina cried, he woke up instantly.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

Benjamin sat up with the sobbing Nina in his arms. He didn’t even take a moment to clear his head before he started comforting her, “Where does it hurt?”

Nina only cried harder.

Hearing her cries, Amelia hurried over.

She had more experience. Seeing Nina’s tightly shut eyes, she immediately knew Nina hadn’t woken up yet -she was trapped in a nightmare.

Seeing Nina stuck like that, Amelia simply woke her up.

Holding the sprinkler truck, Nina sat on Benjamin’s lap with her soft, chubby back leaning against him.

Her tears had slowed, but she was still crying quietly.

She had her dad behind her and her favorite mom in front of her. That was enough to give her some sense

of safety.

She lifted her little arm and wiped her own tears with the back of her hand, then sniffled and whispered, “Nina… scared…”

Amelia didn’t force her to explain the dream. Instead, she grabbed the warm bottle of milk she had prepared.

She handed the bottle to Nina.

Nina held the sprinkler truck with one hand and took the bottle with the other, taking two big gulps.

A moment later, some of the fear faded.

While drinking her milk, tears still in her eyes, she started describing her dream on her own.

“Nina… no car!

“Grandpa, no car!

“Car… boom!”

Nina tried to imitate the sound of an explosion, but it wasn’t loud enough, so the next second, she tossed the bottle onto the floor.

The bottle hit the ground with a thud. Hearing the sour, Nina squeezed her eyes shut again and started crying loudly.

“Nina… die!”
