Chapter 107 The Four-Hour Nap

Just when Amelia was busy overthinking everything, a photo suddenly popped up in the chat box.

It was from Benjamin.

In the photo, Nina had her eyes squeezed shut, curled up on her side with her chubby hands and feet all tucked in. For once, she actually looked like a perfect little baby.

Her dress had been taken off. She wore a fresh belly band on top and a brand-new diaper underneath.

Nina looked completely tidied up and cozy.

Benjamin sent the photo, then started typing again, “Already put more ointment on her. I’m okay, not very sleepy. Shooting this afternoon?”

Benjamin answered every single one of Amelia’s messages in order, then even tossed in a new question.

Amelia had no scenes at noon, but her afternoon call time was early.

So she didn’t waste time going home.

She scrolled through her gallery, found her schedule, and sent it to Benjamin.

She sent, “Afternoon starts early, so I can wrap up sooner. When I get back, I’ll take Nina, then you can finally relax a bit.”

Amelia kept the chat short. She knew Benjamin needed rest.

She sent, “Okay, won’t bother you anymore. Go sleep with Nina.”

Amelia sent that line and immediately left the chat.

She slipped on her earphones and started listening to music.

Actually, she sang really well. But she was broke and couldn’t release songs herself.

The company thought she was too unknown to invest in music.

These days, most sales came from fans anyway.

She had almost no fans, so even if she released songs, no one would buy them.

The afternoon slipped by quietly like that.

Amelia dozed in a little corner of the set with her music on, while Benjamin napped with Nina,

Nina did better than last night.

She whimpered a few times. But she didn’t cry.

Whenever Benjamin heard the little noises, he pulled her close and patted her gently. The whimpers got much softer right away.

Pretty soon, both of them were sound asleep.

Nina eventually crawled straight onto Benjamin’s chest and used him as a mattress.

Even with all that moving around, Benjamin barely stirred.

They slept the entire afternoon away.

Around five or six, Benjamin woke up. He saw Nina sitting right beside him, happily ripping pages out of a picture book, and sounded surprised. “Nina, when did you wake up?” he asked.

Nina waved the book high. “Dino!”

It was a dinosaur picture book.

Benjamin pushed himself up in bed.

He watched Nina and could tell she had only just woken up too.

Otherwise, she would never stay put on the bed.

Since Nina was awake, Benjamin casually snapped a photo and sent it to Amelia with a quick note:

Amelia got the photo and nearly screamed.

She did the math-almost four whole hours of nap! Her heart went ice-cold.

A nap this long meant Nina definitely wasn’t sleeping early tonight!

While Amelia was busy panicking inside, rookie dad Benjamin was busy praising his kid.

“You slept really well,” he said to Nina.

Benjamin decided this trait came from him and counted it as a personal win.

Over at the Wilson Villa, Mia-with her swollen, stung-up face-was throwing a massive fit.

“Freya, my face really ended up like this because of Nina

“She messed with the bees, that’s why they came after me!

“I’m your sister-don’t you feel bad for me at all?!”

Mia was making a huge scene. Freya rubbed her forehead, completely out of patience. “Mia, if Nina really provoked the bees, why didn’t they sting her and only sting you?

“Enough. Stop it.

“That Nina is the Graham family’s precious little one. Ma, final warning-don’t target her again. Otherwise, even I can’t protect you.”

Freya dropped the words, turned around, and left the house without another glance.

Compared to Mia’s tear-streaked, swollen face, Freya suddenly missed Nina way more.

Too bad Nina was at the Graham Residence-she couldn’t just drop by.
