Hearing Serena agree to the search.
A surge of joy rushed through Isabella's heart.
The fish took the bait!
This idiot trusted her friends far too much.
Soon... she would watch Serena get dragged through the mud by the very friends she defended!
Isabella eagerly prepared to ask Princess Isadora's guards to begin the search.
But before she could speak.
Serena lifted her gaze, letting her eyes rest lightly on Isabella. Her voice was cool. "If we're doing a search, then everyone must be searched."
"Since it was your idea, we'll start with you."
Isabella naturally nodded in agreement. "Of course. An innocent conscience fears no accusation. A search is the best way to prove innocence."
With that, she lifted her chin and spread her arms, fully prepared to let the royal guards inspect her.
She looked completely unafraid.
The thought of the guards pulling The Heart of the Sea from Black Jack's bag, and watching Serena stand there disgraced and utterly defenseless, made it almost impossible to hide her glee.
Princess Isadora frowned and glanced at Serena.
Seeing Serena give a subtle nod.
She turned and gestured to her two royal female bodyguards.
The guards stepped forward.
They thoroughly patted Isabella down before publicly opening her clutch.
It contained nothing but a few makeup touch-up items and her phone.
"No sign of The Heart of the Sea on Miss Isabella Lancaster or in her bag," the guard announced plainly.
Isabella looked up at Serena. "Are you satisfied now, Serena? I've been checked. Can we search your friends now?"
Black Jack sneered. "Bring it on. Hurry up and search!"
The guard approached, patted Black Jack down, and found nothing.
It was then that Isabella spoke up. "I recall Miss Hazel carrying a shoulder bag when she arrived. If we're being thorough, every item needs to be checked."
