“Douglas.”
Serena sheathed her blades, her gaze sweeping over his bleeding face and arm. “Let's get out of here and patch you and Mr. White up.”
Douglas felt completely out of his depth.
He looked at his own wounds, then at Mr. White being carried out by his men, and nodded wordlessly.
Outside the warehouse.
Nicholas had a first aid kit ready.
When Serena walked out, he casually pulled out a wet wipe, took her hand, and meticulously cleaned her fingers.
The laptop sat nearby, its screen displaying the security feed from the warehouse.
Clearly, Nicholas had been watching the bloodbath unfold in real-time.
“Douglas.”
Allowing Nicholas to dote on her, Serena looked up, a sly smirk on her face.
Her smile was arrogant, untamed, and perfectly mischievous.
“You got front-row seats to a masterclass, I saved your life, and I wiped out your worst enemy.”
“Do you still feel like you got ripped off when I scammed you out of that billion dollars at the underground auction?”
Douglas stared at her for a moment.
Then he threw his head back and roared with laughter, completely ignoring the sting in his wounds. “Hahaha! No! Not at all!”
“A bargain! Best money I've ever spent!”
“I'd pay a hundred billion if you asked! Worth every penny!”
Hell, he'd give her his entire fortune without blinking!
With a niece like this, who in the global underworld would ever dare challenge him?
Serena shot him a glance and smiled.
Her uncle might be a bit of an amateur, but he had good taste.
Once Nicholas finished wiping her hands, she stepped back. “I'll go check on Mr. White. Patch Douglas up.”
Nicholas looked at Douglas.
