Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 611

Chapter 611: I’ll Find the Evidence

Jeff delivered the verdict with a single hammer blow. "Ava is expelled from the Hill Family. As for you, Mrs. Hill..."

He glanced sideways at Hannah. "You and your so-called ’good father’ — I will settle every account with you both!"

He enunciated those last words like a warning. Hannah bit her lip; a bad feeling rose in her chest.

Jeff didn’t say more. "Selina, let’s go."

Selina nodded coolly and left with Jeff and the others.

Those left behind exchanged stunned looks. This... it wasn’t just Ava—Hannah and even Matt felt humiliated.

Hannah’s eyes darkened. Panic flickered through her thoughts. Impossible... They’d occupied the Hill Family for thirty years, held its power and resources for decades. Even if Jeff had taken the family back, didn’t they still have foundations to stand on? How could everything just fall apart so easily? Who did Jeff think he was?

...

Back at the Hill estate, Jeff glanced at Logan, then said to Selina, "Selina, there’s something I want to talk to you about."

Selina nodded. "Go ahead."

Jeff looked toward Logan, the message obvious.

Selina shook her head. "It’s okay."

Logan inclined his head politely. "What concerns Selina concerns me."

Only then did Jeff get to the point. "I’ve basically secured evidence that Matt was behind the deaths of my parents. I’ve submitted it to the authorities. Once it’s fully investigated, Matt will pay the price."

Selina felt a chill. It would be good for Matt to be brought to justice—yet Charles would never come back. Thirty years ago Jeff had lost his father forever and his mother had been left in a vegetative state; he couldn’t protect them. He’d endured thirty years of restraint. Even if Matt was jailed, he’d spent three decades living freely after taking lives and shattering a family—prison couldn’t repair that.

Jeff closed his eyes. "Matt deserves to die. His son Philip and his daughter Hannah should also pay!"

"But the evidence only points to Matt and Philip," he continued, "and clears Hannah. After all, Hannah was only twelve back then—who would suspect a twelve-year-old could be so cruel and scheming, capable of planning something that killed an entire branch of the family?"

Jeff paused; Selina understood. The investigation could only tie Matt and Philip to the crime, officially exonerating Hannah.

But was Hannah truly innocent? Impossible. Matt was an adopted son; Hannah herself was only an adopted daughter. Why did Matt dote on Hannah more than his own biological children? Even if Matt had lost his mind, could Mrs. Hill really have been indifferent?

Selina had already discovered the drug—one that alters a person’s thoughts and emotions. There was no doubt Hannah had given Matt the drug, and Matt had dosed Old Mr. Hill. If so, Hannah was the root of it all.

Now Matt and Philip would face justice while Hannah walked free. Why should that be?

Selina narrowed her eyes. "Uncle, I understand. I’ll handle Hannah’s side too."

Jeff closed his eyes slowly. "These are things you shouldn’t have to shoulder, not at your age. But Selina, the Hill Family in City N was under Hannah’s control for thirty years. Now she’s facing me again, and you — you are like a stone dropped into a calm lake, stirring up the surface."

"Your return may produce effects we can’t yet imagine."

Selina nodded. "When do you expect the Matt case to conclude?"

Jeff said, "Soon."

Jeff hadn’t been exaggerating when he said it would be soon—within half a month, Matt’s crimes were exposed to the public.

The evidence was ironclad, leaving no room for defense. Not only had Matt orchestrated the car accident back then, but even the death of the Hill family’s great-grandfather was tied directly to him.
