Chapter 507: Not Yet at the Climax

Upstairs.

As the signing ceremony approached, Joe grew uneasy. "Mom, is this really okay? What if we get caught...?"

"What’s there to be afraid of? As long as you don’t say anything, who would ever know?"

"But, but..." Joe stammered for half a day, unable to make his point.

Hannah smiled gently. "Joe, I know this isn’t right. Don’t worry—once Morris Group stabilizes, I’ll announce that this was actually your sister Victoria’s work. I’ll take responsibility."

That was what she said out loud, but in her heart, Hannah was gloating.

She was savoring every bit of the thrill in this moment.

The reporters’ flattery, Turner Group’s partnership, the online praise—everything was lifting her to a height she had never deserved.

Hannah couldn’t help but think:

Back when they were kids, the Hill Family always revolved around Victoria. Later, even when Victoria had lost her father and mother, had nothing at all, the moment she was found again, the board still named her as the next chairwoman.

They said Miss Hannah only knew how to arrange flowers, go shopping, and visit beauty salons, while Miss Victoria had real talent and could carry the Hill Family.

But now? Victoria was dead, and the one standing here as the victor... was her!

Who could prove the design belonged to Victoria? And even if they could—would they have evidence? Unless Victoria crawled out of her grave.

Just then, an assistant came rushing in. "Chairman Morris, Madam, there’s a woman causing a scene outside."

Before Joe could speak, Grandma Morris frowned impatiently. "If someone’s making trouble, throw them out! Do I have to teach you everything?"

"N–no, that’s not it." The assistant stammered, speaking cautiously. "The troublemaker... she says her last name is Clark, and she’s here to report Ms. Hill..."

The office fell silent.

Half a minute later, the faces of the Morris family turned deathly pale.

The color drained visibly from their skin as Grandma Morris raised her voice. "Selina? Report us?! Is she jealous of our partnership with the Turner family and here to cause trouble?"

Hannah gritted her teeth, her eyes dark. Selina was reporting her? Ha. Sure, Selina might know the true creator of the design, but so what? She’d already said it—unless Victoria came crawling out of her grave, no one had proof!

Grandma Morris was furious, almost leaping out of her seat. "Throw Selina out! This is not a place for her to act out!"

The assistant nodded frantically, afraid to anger her further. "Y–yes, right away."

Hannah shot a glance at Angela. Angela caught on instantly. "Dad, Grandma, let me handle this."

...

Meanwhile, in the lobby of Turner Group’s headquarters—

Because of one earth-shattering sentence from Selina, all the reporters fell silent, staring wide-eyed in shock.

The business elites here for the signing ceremony were also stunned, exchanging looks as if wondering whether they’d misheard.

That woman had just said... she was here to accuse Hannah of plagiarism?!

She claimed that the design the Morris family presented wasn’t Hannah’s work at all, but her late mother’s property!

The head of Morris Group’s project department rushed downstairs, full of indignation. "Miss, please stop talking nonsense! These blueprints were personally designed by Mrs. Hannah Morris. What does this have to do with your mother? If you keep making trouble and spreading lies, don’t blame me for being rude!"

Reporters swarmed around Selina, blocking every exit.

Selina glanced at her phone—Kevin’s text had come in just a minute ago: [I’m almost there.]

With that, she had no more reason to hold back. She put away her phone and slowly lifted her gaze.
