Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 479

Chapter 479: What Did I Do Wrong?

Everyone’s eyes followed the direction of Logan’s voice.

The three board members brightened the moment they saw "Selina," their faces lighting up with delight.

Logan’s gaze darkened, his certainty growing sharper.

It really was this imposter—using Selina’s identity to play tricks.

Logan’s lips curved into a smile, his tone rich with meaning.

"Selina, perfect timing. Come sit down and listen with us to the evidence these board members brought."

The imposter stiffened, instinctively wanting to bolt.

"Logan, I... I don’t understand these things..."

"How could you not understand? You’ve learned plenty from the Browns and the Fosters. I even handed you part of the shares—and SL belongs to you."

Logan frowned slightly.

"Selina, don’t sell yourself short."

Cold sweat broke out on the imposter’s back.

Logan’s smile was faint but cutting.

"As it happens, the board members seem to have some concerns with the way I’ve handled things. Selina, you’re a manager too—why don’t you tell us, based on your logic, how you would’ve handled the Lewis situation?"

The imposter pressed her lips tightly together.

All these years, she’d been trained to become Selina—to mimic her mannerisms, to learn social graces, to perfect the art of seducing men.

But no one had ever taught her how to run a company, how to handle finances, how to think like a leader.

Logan’s question boxed her in completely.

She had no answer.

Meanwhile, the three board members’ eyes lit up.

They feared "Selina" might try to protect Logan’s pride and stay silent, so they quickly pressed her.

"Yes, Mrs. Reid—why don’t you share your thoughts?"

In their minds, Selina supported removing Logan.

Of course she would take their side.

The imposter’s throat went dry.

"Lewis... the Lewis situation, I think..."

Logan cut in softly.

"How about this—why don’t you just tell us who you think is most at fault? Was it Manager Lewis... or was it me?"

The three board members’ hearts leapt into their throats.

Truth be told, the blame really did lie with Lewis.

Logan had repeatedly warned against being reckless, but Lewis went behind everyone’s back to meet the other party’s head negotiator—only to botch the deal entirely.

When there was still a chance to fix things, Lewis made yet another careless mistake, miscounting an entire shipment, and the situation spiraled from there.

And this wasn’t even a project Logan directly managed.

It belonged to a subsidiary under Reid Group. Logan rarely micromanaged subsidiary projects, but because this one involved an enormous investment, he’d stepped in briefly.

It was the only "flaw" Owen and Amelia could dig up after searching for ages—something to sling mud at Logan with.

Now the board members sat uneasily, fully aware they were on shaky ground, dreading a direct confrontation with Logan.

Inside the sitting room, the tension thickened.

The imposter clenched her teeth. She knew nothing—so she gave a weak laugh.

"I think... I think Manager Lewis made mistakes, but Logan, you..."

"I also made mistakes?"

Logan’s voice was mild, almost lazy.

"Yes. My mistake was in trusting the wrong person—failing to see that Manager Lewis had such grand ambitions. That behind my back, he reached out not just to the client, but also to our competitors."

The board members’ scalps prickled.

"Selina," Logan drawled, raising his eyes slowly, "aside from that, tell me—where else did I go wrong?"

Cold sweat trickled down the imposter’s face.

"Manager Lewis... that project, I... I..."
