"Selina, don’t go too far..."
"Is that question so hard to answer?" Selina said coolly. "Seems like Mrs. Perry still favors her adopted son. Sigh... maybe I should just ask Grandma Perry—"
"I knew! Owen knew!"
Amelia gritted her teeth. "Logan, I’m sorry. I lost my head. Owen said you’ve already achieved enough and deserved a break. He offered to manage Reid Group for you... I believed him."
"I’m your real mother. Why would I side with an adopted son to steal what belongs to you? I was just confused for a moment. Don’t listen to what others say!"
"Oh?" Selina cut in sarcastically before Logan could respond.
"So now it’s all Owen’s fault? Then Mrs. Perry, shouldn’t you punish him properly? A fake young master trying to steal from the real heir—shouldn’t go unpunished, right?"
"You—you..."
"She’s right," Logan suddenly chuckled, his voice laced with meaning.
"The shares Owen has should’ve been mine in the first place. If there’s going to be a punishment, it should be thorough. Mrs. Perry, surely you wouldn’t hesitate?"
A buzzing filled Amelia’s mind. Her whole body trembled. "Logan, don’t push your luck..."
"Logan, let’s go to the Perry Family," Selina said faintly. "Mrs. Perry keeps calling you her biological son, but everything she does says otherwise. Maybe my guess is right—maybe you really are Anna’s son. Maybe Mrs. Perry has hated her sister all along, and that’s why she..."
"Fine! Fine!" Amelia screamed. "You’re my biological son! Of course I want to give you the best!"
"Great. Jack, go with Mrs. Perry to complete the share transfer," Selina ordered calmly. "If she goes back on her word, we’ll head straight to the Perry Family."
Jack tried not to laugh. "Right this way, Mrs. Reid."
Amelia’s steps were shaky as she left the room. She couldn’t believe she’d been forced into this. If the truth from back then ever came out... No. That couldn’t happen.
As she staggered away, Selina’s sarcastic voice echoed behind her:
"Honey, sure, your little brother’s a useless, spoiled, incompetent man-child who probably can’t even do basic math and still tried to take your company... but forgive him, okay?"
"Every family has to have one failure, right? Why can’t it be the adopted one? Be understanding."
Amelia swayed, her vision going black, and collapsed on the spot.
Selina blinked innocently. "Oh no, Mrs. Perry fainted. Could it be she’s pretending to avoid signing? That won’t work. Jack, take her to the doctor. As soon as she wakes up, have her sign~"
Jack: ...

When Owen heard about the share transfer, he stormed in to confront Amelia.
"Mom! You promised Reid Group would be mine. And now you gave my shares to Logan?! Are you playing favorites because he’s your real son?"
Amelia’s heart bled. "Of course not!"
"Then why?!"
She looked around, lowered her voice, and whispered, "Owen... it’s time you knew... You are my real son."
Owen’s eyes went wide. "What?!"
Logan watched the livestream, expression unreadable, as Daniel and Amelia put on a saintly front.
Daniel spoke first: "We’re deeply sorry. We’ve been hiding something for years. Amelia and I made an unforgivable mistake... but we’ve repented every day since."
"I married Miss Anna, yet I betrayed her by falling in love with her sister. We were wrong—so wrong. When Anna passed away, our guilt consumed us... but she left behind a child."
Selina could already guess what they were about to say.
Amelia’s voice trembled with tears: "Anna was my sister. After she died, I was overwhelmed with regret. So I chose to raise her child as my own. But back then, the Reid Family was in chaos. I feared I couldn’t protect him... so I said he was adopted."
Daniel nodded gravely, "Yes, Owen is now grown. It’s time the truth is known. He’s not adopted—he’s Anna and my biological son. The rightful heir of the Reid Family."
The press room exploded in gasps.
A reporter asked, "And Mrs. Amelia, you’re okay with passing the Reid legacy to Anna’s child?" freёwebnoѵel.com
Amelia put on a sanctimonious smile. "Back then I was jealous, yes. But that was childish of me. I’ve spent twenty years repenting. And Owen... I raised him myself. If he can be happy, it’s the best way I can make amends to my sister."
Just like that—Owen became Anna’s child, the legitimate heir. Daniel and Amelia were painted as remorseful, honorable guardians.
Meanwhile, Owen swaggered into Logan’s room, smirking.
"Big brother, you saw it, right? You can’t beat me. I’m the heir now. You’re just a bastard—stop fighting what’s already mine. The Reid Family, the Perry Family... they all belong to me."
Selina crushed the glass in her hand, teeth clenched. "I swear, I’m going to end him—"
Before she could finish, Logan gently took her wrist.
"Mrs. Reid," he said calmly, "don’t be mad."
