Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 172

Chapter 172: A Seamless Collaboration

Mrs. Reid truly understood him, knowing exactly what he came here for.

Seeing no one speaking, Selina, seemingly oblivious to the tense atmosphere, continued nonchalantly:

"After all, it’s Reid Group—just 5% of its shares is already a massive fortune. If shares could be used for bidding... Ah, never mind. I doubt Young Master Reid has the guts for that. Logan, congratulations in advance."

Logan glanced indifferently at the auctioneer. "Can we finalize the price now?"

The auctioneer snapped back to attention. "Yes, yes, I now announce that the final bidding price is 11billion—"

A surge of unwillingness overwhelmed Owen.

He lost? He lost to Logan again?!

He had made bold claims that he would definitely acquire the South City land, and even Reid Group and Perry Family had backed him. If he lost to Logan now, how could he ever show his face again?

This land couldn’t be abandoned. Logan’s determination to get it only confirmed its immense value. If he gave up now, what would people say?

Would they think he lacked vision? That he was inferior to Logan?

Unwilling... so unwilling!

Wait—Selina mentioned shares.

He still had 5% of Reid Group’s shares. He could use them, right? He had to be able to!

As the auctioneer began the countdown, Owen, his face flushed with desperation, suddenly roared:

"I’ll add 1% of Reid Group’s shares!"

...

Silence fell across the room.

Amelia’s eyes widened in shock. "Owen!"

But Owen ignored her, clenching his jaw. "Adding 1% of Reid Group’s shares—Big Brother, do you dare?"

Logan let out a mocking laugh, unhurriedly replying, "I’ll add 2%."

No one dared to breathe. The nature of the auction had completely changed.

This was no longer about land—it was a power struggle between the true heir of Reid Group and the imposter who had taken his place.

Years ago, Logan, the rightful heir, had been switched at birth, while Owen had taken his name, his shares, and his inheritance.

So these 5% of shares—they were originally Logan’s to begin with.

Owen gritted his teeth. "3%!"

Logan remained indifferent. "4%."

4% of Reid Group’s shares... Amelia was horrified.

"Owen, stop! You only have 5% left—no, listen to me, this land, I can still—"

"Is Young Master Reid giving up?" Selina blinked, then feigned realization in a teasing tone.

"Oh~ Looks like Mrs. Perry won’t let Young Master Reid continue bidding. That’s too bad."

Then, she leaned in toward Logan, whispering just loud enough for everyone to hear:

"Logan, good thing Young Master Reid stopped bidding. If this kept going, even you couldn’t afford it."

Logan’s lips curled into a faint smile. "Mm, lucky me."

"Logan can’t afford it, can’t afford it..."

Owen, as if grasping at the one victory he could claim over Logan, didn’t even pause to think about the trap. His face flushed as he abruptly stood up.

"5%! I bid 5%!"

Instantly, all eyes turned to Logan.

If Mr. Reid continued, the land would be his—because everyone knew Owen only had 5% left.

But...

Logan glanced at Owen, expression unreadable, before he finally smiled and spoke slowly:

"5%? What a pity—I really can’t afford any more shares."

Selina turned to the stunned auctioneer, gently reminding, "Logan has forfeited. That means the land belongs to Owen. Shouldn’t you announce it?"

The land was Owen’s!

Logan arched a brow. "Why does Mrs. Reid think I have a counterattack?"

Selina hesitated. "Then what? Are you seriously just letting him take it?"

Logan had schemed for this land for so long—was he really giving it up?

Selina knew the South City plot was a goldmine. No matter who developed it, they were bound to profit. If Logan had abandoned it, did that mean something was wrong with the land? Was Owen about to walk into a massive trap?

Why was Logan so composed, while Owen was already celebrating?

Logan’s deep eyes lowered slightly. "Mrs. Reid, be patient."

Selina blinked. Patience?

So something was about to happen...?

"Young Master Owen! Young Master Owen!"

Suddenly, the auction hall doors burst open as Daniel Reid’s assistant came rushing in, panting heavily, his face full of panic.

Ignoring all decorum, he grabbed Owen’s arm.

"That land! That land—right now—"

Owen, still reveling in his victory, grinned confidently.

"Relax, I already secured it. Go tell my father there’s nothing to worry about."

The assistant froze completely.

"You... you already secured it?"

Owen, still riding his high, laughed. "Of course! And I should thank my dear brother for backing down just in time—"

"It’s over. It’s all over!"

Before Owen could finish, the assistant let out a horrified cry, stumbling backward, collapsing onto the floor in complete despair.

"It’s ruined! Young Master Owen, that land was a mistake— it should have never been purchased! It’s all over...!"

In the shadows, Logan casually toyed with a deck of cards, a slow, knowing smirk curling at the corner of his lips.
