Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 108

Chapter 108: Clues About the Will

Zoey shivered. That’s exactly what she thought—but she didn’t dare say it!

"I-I didn’t mean... Natalia, help me!"

Natalia looked utterly wronged. "Mr. Reid, please don’t be so harsh. Zoey was only looking out for my sister..."

Logan let out a cold, mocking laugh. He chuckled for a moment before speaking, his tone laced with icy sarcasm.

"Looking out for your sister? Natalia, you keep saying you’re doing this for Selina’s sake, yet you push her straight into the fire."

"You claim it’s for her good, yet you accuse her of theft, saying she stole your wedding dress."

"You say you care about her, yet every word you speak is an insinuation that she seduced men and lacks self-respect."

His voice carried a distinct lack of patience. "This is how you ’care’ for your sister? Have you already forgotten the lesson from a few days ago?"

Selina blinked.

For the first time, she found Logan... breathtakingly handsome.

The way he defended her—so confident, so effortlessly sharp—made him shine, almost as if he were glowing.

She realized... she might be falling for him, just a little.

Natalia felt the weight of the stares around her, her face flushing with embarrassment. Shame crashed over her like a wave, making her knees weak. "I-I..."

Jillian hurriedly tried to smooth things over. "Ho—Mr. Reid, you misunderstood! We never meant it that way..."

Logan remained indifferent. "That’s all Mrs. Carter has to say? Should I teach you how to properly apologize?"

Jillian’s expression twisted, but as much as she wanted to lash out, she knew she couldn’t afford to offend Logan. She could only grit her teeth and swallow her pride.

"Selina, today was just a misunderstanding. We made a mistake—please be gracious enough to forgive us."

Watching the once-arrogant Jillian now humbling herself was incredibly satisfying for Selina.

Meanwhile, Kevin glanced at Sean and said coolly, "Since you like cozying up to the Carter Family so much, I’ll grant your wish—you’re fired. Get out with them."

With a loud thud, Sean collapsed onto the floor, his face drained of all color.

Regret and fear twisted his features.

He had only helped Natalia in exchange for a small favor...

How did things end up like this?!

Kevin had no interest in watching Natalia’s pitiful act any longer. With a flick of his wrist, security swiftly escorted them out.

Only then did he turn back. "Apologies, Mr. Reid, for the unsightly scene."

Logan let out a lazy chuckle. "No trouble at all. I got to enjoy quite the show."

Kevin didn’t bother with pleasantries and went straight to the point. "May I ask Mr. Reid to step aside? I need to speak with Selina privately."

Logan’s expression darkened slightly.

His smile no longer reached his eyes. "And what does Selina think? Do you want me to leave?"

Selina: "..."

She had an unsettling feeling—like if she dared to say yes, she might not survive it.

She hesitated for a moment, then stammered, "I-It’s fine, just say it. There’s nothing Mr. Reid can’t hear."

Logan looked pleased, crossing his arms and leaning casually against the window.

Kevin frowned slightly.

Since when did Selina and Logan get this close?

But there were more important matters at hand. Without wasting time, he handed something to her.

"Frostfall wasn’t actually my design. It was your mother’s. Here’s the original blueprint."

Selina lowered her gaze and instantly widened her eyes.

She had never seen this design before, but the notes beside the sketches—

"This... this is my mother’s handwriting!"

Kevin nodded. "Aside from wedding gowns, your mother’s greatest talent was jewelry design."

Selina’s lips pressed into a tight line.

She had a feeling—she was one step closer to the truth.

"Twenty years ago, Carter Family’s jewelry company released a line of pieces that became timeless classics. Before that, Carter Group’s jewelry designs were mediocre at best."

"Tell me, don’t you think the timing is a little too coincidental?"

...Yeah. She was definitely drunk.

Kevin thought he had misheard. Was Logan really about to abduct Selina right in front of him?!

"I’ll take her home! Let go of Selina!"

Logan remained utterly unfazed. "We can discuss business later. Mr. Turner, you should head back."

"This isn’t about business, Logan! And where exactly do you think your hand is going?!"

Kevin’s patience snapped. What was this Logan bastard trying to pull?

Did he think Selina was easy to bully? Was that why he was suddenly getting handsy?!

His glare zeroed in on Logan’s hand. "Logan, show some respect—Selina is a married woman!" freewebnøvel.coɱ

Logan’s fingers stilled for a brief moment.

Then, he smirked—not a genuine one, but something slow and unreadable.

"Mr. Turner, I think you’ve misunderstood something."

Kevin looked like he was about to explode. "If it’s a misunderstanding, then let go of her! I’ve heard plenty about your polished reputation, but it turns out you’re no better than some sleazy opportunist who gropes married women the first chance he gets!"

He deliberately emphasized married woman, spitting out the words like a warning.

But instead of being offended, Logan’s smile deepened.

Lowering his head slightly, he traced a finger lightly over Selina’s brow, his voice dropping into a gentle murmur.

"Mr. Turner seems to have gotten the wrong idea. Should I let you explain it for me?"

Selina, completely lost in her drunken haze, blinked a few times as if seriously considering it.

Then, after a moment of deep thought, she looked Kevin straight in the eye and confidently declared, "You misunderstood him."

Kevin: "..."

Drunk out of her mind, she was just going along with whatever Logan said!

"Alright, enough talking—Logan, put her down!"

But before Kevin could snatch her away, Selina slurred out the rest of her sentence.

"You misunderstood... He’s my husband."
