Matthew had told them there was no need for such formalities, but the two insisted on coming.

"You should head back now—we're about to leave," Matthew called out, waving at Hanno and Weston.

Just earlier, he had a private conversation with Weston, asking what he planned to do next. If Weston wanted to leave this sea of mist, Matthew was willing to take him and his people along.

But Weston declined. He had decided to stay on the island.
