Since Li Lingyun used Lu Jueyu space’s pig feed and pellets, they built a small warehouse near the pig pen to store these things.
Every few days, Lu Jueyu and her husband would go there and fill the warehouse with feed and pellets from her space. Everything in the warehouse is for Li Lingyun’s pig farm, and the pigs they raise use pig feed and pellets stored inside the pig pen.
Seeing that the children were back, Lu Jueyu smiled when she saw the fish in the basin and asked, "Xiao Li, Xiao Huang, what do you want to eat for dinner?"
Upon hearing this, Dong Huang raised her hand and said, "Foster mother, Xiao Huang wants to eat braised fish with soy sauce."
After speaking, she smacked her lips and swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
Lu Jueyu nodded and said, "Then for dinner, we will have Xiao Huang’s favorite braised fish and Xiao Li’s favorite fish soup."
Dong Li heard her words and looked at her in surprise. He didn’t expect that his adoptive mother would find out that he liked fish soup.
"Okay, you go and wash up first. Don’t catch a cold," Li Chenmo said.
Dong Li and Dong Huang both nodded and said in unison, "Yes, foster father."
When Li Chenmo went to the kitchen to get hot water for them, Lu Jueyu was cleaning the fish in the backyard. In less than fifteen minutes, she cleaned the fish and went to the kitchen. When she walked into the kitchen, she saw her husband sitting in front of the stove adding firewood.
Seeing his wife coming, Li Chenmo smiled and said, "Wife, the fire is ready."
Looking at her husband’s expression, the image of a wolf-dog wagging its tail reappeared in her mind. After placing the fish on the dining table, she walked over to her husband, leaned over, and kissed him, "Thank you, husband."
Unsatisfied with only one kiss, he kissed her several more times before letting her go.
While Lu Jueyu was cooking, Li Chenmo was helping her with the small chores such as tending the fire, washing the vegetables, fetching water, and washing the pots and pans. After the sky had completely darkened, they had dinner in the living room.
While eating, Dong Huang suddenly remembered what happened before and said, "Father, when my brother and I came back from the river, we saw a strange grandpa walking around our house. He also asked about you and our age. He even offered us maltose candies in exchange for helping him get into our home. Fortunately, Xiao Huang was smart and refused."
When Li Chenmo heard her words, he had a guess in his mind. This morning, Su Anna’s father came. Unexpectedly, he came again in the afternoon. It seems he should report the matter to the relevant authorities, lest he make trouble for his wife and children.
"After he knew the ages of Xiao Huang and me, he seemed to have changed his plan and no longer wanted to know more about you. If he knew your identity, he would not leave so easily after coming. After all, there is a rumor in the village that you promised to marry his daughter.
He also seems to believe the rumors about my foster mother being the third party who ruined you and his daughter’s relationship. So, he should at least want an explanation from you. Therefore, the conclusion is that he doesn’t know who lives here," he added.
After he finished speaking, Li Chenmo nodded to him, with a satisfied smile on his face. He scooped some soup for him again and said, "What you said makes sense, and the accuracy rate is 90%."
Dong Li looked at him and asked, "Foster father, what about the last ten percent?"
Li Chenmo tapped his fingers on the table and said, "In addition to what you said, that man also had another purpose, which was to match the homeowner with his daughter. But when he found out that the man he liked was already married, and even had two children, he changed his mind because the losses outweighed the gains."
Hearing this, Lu Jueyu frowned and blurted out, "Husband, what nonsense are you talking about? Why are the losses of marrying you outweighing the gains? You are such a good man. Not only are you young, but you are also good-looking, smart, hard-working, and strong."
As soon as she finished speaking, she noticed that her husband and adopted children were looking at her with various gazes.
