Bai Xue’er handed the box to the vice mayor’s wife and said, "Madam, this is a handmade beauty soap crafted by my sister-in-law. It’s made using winter mountain dew, 300-year-old ginseng powder, and various medicinal herbs."
"All the ingredients were sourced from the mountains and the process was all manually done to ensure it has no side effects. I hope Madam will accept this humble gift."
Intrigued by her words, one of the guests asked, "Madam Pan, are you sure this soap is safe to use?"
Bai Xue’er nodded and added, "Unless Madam is allergic to medicinal herbs, she won’t experience any issues. I have been using it myself, and my skin condition has noticeably improved."
The vice mayor’s wife squinted slightly, examining Bai Xue’er’s skin. After a moment, she smiled and said, "Madam Pan, you are too modest. With such rare and expensive ingredients, this soap must be extraordinary."
The moment she opened the box, a faint fragrance of chrysanthemum mingled with mint and a hint of ginseng filled the air. The refreshing scent instantly made everyone feel relaxed and rejuvenated, leaving them amazed.
As they gathered around the vice mayor’s wife, they saw a small, milky-colored soap together with a small bottle of clear liquid inside the box.
The vice mayor’s wife frowned when she saw the small soap and bottle and said, "Madam Pan, isn’t this gift of yours too stingy? This soap will be gone in just a week or two."
Bai Xue’er smiled gently at her words and said, "Madam, the ingredients used to make the soap and toner are incredibly rare. My sister-in-law spent two months collecting winter dew to make this single bar. She used up all her ginseng powder as well, so producing another one isn’t feasible."
"I initially planned to bring a different gift, but I remembered you mentioned having a skin rash. Thinking this soap might help, I brought it instead. I’m sorry if my humble gifts offend you. Shall I replace it with something else?" she offered.
After she finished her words, Bai Xue’er reached for the box, but the vice mayor’s wife quickly closed it and smiled, "There is no need for another gift. Your thoughtful gesture is more than enough."
Bai Xue’er smiled back and said, "I’m glad you like it, Madam."
The vice mayor’s wife then addressed the group, "Everyone, I have prepared lunch for us. Let’s dine together."
After finishing her words, the vice mayor’s wife held Bai Xue’er’s hand intimately and said, "Sister Bai, I wonder if your sister-in-law has sent you more beauty products. Would it be possible for you to show them to me?"
Noticing the change in her attitude, Bai Xue’er nodded and replied, "Actually, besides the gift, I came to share some of my sister-in-law’s beauty products with you and everyone else today. We can discuss this after the meal."
Hearing this, the vice mayor’s wife’s eyes lit up and added, "Sister Bai, just call me sister-in-law. Since our husbands are colleagues, there is no need to be so formal between us."
Bai Xue’er nodded and called her, "Sister-in-law."
After she memorized the booklet, she was confident that she could answer everyone’s questions about the products. With a smile, she began introducing the items one by one while answering questions with ease.
Although she intended to promote the products, Bai Xue’er had no plans to openly sell them here. She couldn’t risk this group of madams using such transactions as leverage against her husband.
After allowing them to sample the products, she packed everything back into her bag with a polite smile.
Turning to the vice mayor’s wife, she said, "Sister-in-law, I still have one jar of whitening cream with me. Since you have sensitive skin, how about you try it? It might work well without causing any irritation like the one sold in the department store."
The vice mayor’s wife’s eyes lit up with interest when she heard this and asked, "Sister Bai, are you really willing to give me your whitening cream? Didn’t you mention the ingredients were rare and expensive?"
Bai Xue’er chuckled lightly and said, "Sister-in-law, since my husband has received so much help from your husband, it’s only right for me to express my gratitude."
Raising her eyebrows playfully, the vice mayor’s wife replied, "Sister Bai, it’s my husband helping yours. What does that have to do with me?"
Bai Xue’er smiled teasingly and added, "Sister-in-law, everyone knows how much your husband cherishes you. Rather than thanking him directly, it’s better to thank you."
