Love in the Limelight novel Chapter 582

Emily stood firm, her voice steady and exasperated. "Who saw her spiking the drinks? I've already asked around. It was Darius who messed up. He mixed up the bottles, so everyone ended up drinking the spiked drinks."

"No, that's not it!" Linda shook her head vigorously. "Emily, I didn't drink any alcohol last night. I was only having soda. Even if Darius mixed up the bottles, I should've been clear-headed!"

"But I can't remember anything from last night. Clearly, I was affected too!"

"It was Astrid, it had to be Astrid. Call the police and have them check the surveillance footage at the club. She had dozens of bodyguards with guns, ready to kill us!"

"Enough!" Emily's patience was wearing thin. "Dozens of armed bodyguards? Linda, do you think you're in a movie?"

Unbeknownst to them, Chad had already tampered with the footage, leaving Emily and the others with nothing unusual to find.

Seeing the disbelief on Emily’s face, Linda was on the verge of tears. "It's true, Emily! There really were dozens of bodyguards. They filled the entire hallway, calling her 'Miss Astrid!'"

Emily sighed deeply, looking at Linda's frantic demeanor. "I checked the footage. There was nothing out of the ordinary. No bodyguards, but I did see you passed out in the hallway, stark naked."

Linda's eyes widened in shock. "What? How is that possible?"

"It's not possible, Emily! You have to believe me, there really were bodyguards!"

"It was Astrid who set me up!"

Emily shook her head. "Get some rest. This has spread all over the film set. You might not be able to stay here much longer. I'm going to talk to Director York. It's early in production, we can still replace you." She turned to leave, but Linda leapt from the bed, clinging desperately to Emily's leg.

"Joana was at least a rising star, and now she's faded into oblivion."

"Bernice was legendary, a goddess of the screen! And now? Who would dare cast her?"

"Do you still think Astrid is just some newcomer without connections? Don’t be naive. Her background is mysterious, and even without Elio, you can't afford to mess with her."

"If she wanted to ruin you, those recordings of yours wouldn't stand a chance. She hasn't released them because she doesn't want to disrupt this production."

As Emily’s words sank in, Linda couldn't hold back her tears. The memory of last night made her want to rip Astrid apart.
