"You are the most beautiful cloud on my horizon, let me keep you close to my heart, stay with me!"
"Burn my calories!!"
"......"
After a while, it wasn't just the singing from next door; it felt like the entire world around her had erupted into song. The melodies buzzed inside her head, threatening to explode her brain.
"Linda, it's time to start getting dressed and made up. Your makeup will take about three to four hours, and we start filming at two this afternoon. It's about time," the stylist and costume designer tapped on the door. Already on the brink of a meltdown, Linda's temper flared.
Linda shouted, "I need to sleep! Just leave me alone!"
The people outside exchanged bewildered looks.
Caught in a state of confusion, they spotted Linda's agent, Emily, approaching.
After Joana's career took a nosedive, Emily was tasked with managing new talent. She thought Linda, with her influential family background, would be an easier prospect. But once the work began, Emily quickly realized just how demanding this spoiled starlet could be.
Emily walked over and knocked on the door. "Linda, it's time. Don't throw a tantrum. This role is crucial for you. With so many seasoned actors on set, you can't afford to mess this up."
Having been sleepless all night and tormented by the incessant noise, Linda found everyone's voice grating. "It's just a supporting role. If you were any good at your job, I'd be the lead actress by now, wouldn’t I?"
"You might have some fame, but you're no match for Dale. If Dale were my agent, I wouldn't be playing second fiddle to a newcomer like Astrid!"
"You..."
Just as Emily was about to continue, Linda appeared at the door, eyes red with anger. "Are you my agent or hers? Why are you tearing me down like this?"
"I'm not tearing you down. I want you to face reality. If you put in the effort and leverage your father's connections, you can carve out your own path. But if you keep ignoring advice, maybe I'm not the right agent for you." Emily turned to leave as she spoke.
Linda knew Emily's capabilities; after all, Emily had successfully managed several stars. Her earlier words were just out of frustration.
Seeing Emily about to leave, Linda panicked and quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, Emily. I didn't mean it; I haven't slept well and was speaking out of turn. I'll change. Please don't go."
