Chapter 4098: The Purest Hunger! II
Did he want this?
Noah’s firm gaze and unchanging eyes told Khor all she needed as she smiled and nodded!
Khor circled Ozymandias with the particular interest of an artist examining a canvas.
Her tiny form somehow commanded the space, making everyone else seem like observers at a ceremony they didn’t fully understand.
“Creating an Inevitability,” she said, her voice carrying the weight of ancient knowledge, “isn’t about adding something. It’s about taking everything away except the one thing that matters.”
Noah watched with calm intensity, feeling through his connection to Ozymandias what was about to occur. “And what matters?”
“Hunger.” The word emerged from Khor like a fundamental truth. “Everything hungers. Atoms hunger for stability. Stars hunger for fuel. Even void hungers for substance. I simply… help that hunger realize itself.”
She waved her tiny hands, and Ozymandias rose into the air, his obsidian form suspended by forces that predated gravity.
His arms and legs stretched out as if he wss contained in a perfect circle of Inevitability!
The Shore’s inhabitants stepped back instinctively…even Titano, massive and ancient, showed wariness.

“First,” Khor announced, her fingers beginning to tap out patterns in the air that hurt to follow, “we strip away the unnecessary. All his Everythings except Hunger must go.”
BOOM!
Her fingers moved with surgical precision, each gesture removing something fundamental from Ozymandias. Noah felt it through their connection….layers of his other self being peeled away like skin from fruit.
“His Everything of joy, gone. His Everything of fear, removed. His Everything of hope, of despair, of rage, of life, of death, of peace…all unnecessary distractions from the purity of want.”
HUUM!
With each removal, Ozymandias’s form changed. The stellar obsidian body that had been magnificent began to shrivel, becoming skeletal, hollow. His frame collapsed inward as if existence itself was being drained from him.
Noah gritted his teeth, feeling the agony through their bond that was there, and was not.
It wasn’t pain in any conventional sense…it was the sensation of becoming less while remaining aware of what you had lost. Like forgetting your own name while remembering that you once had one!
“This is what pure Hunger feels like,” Khor explained, her tone almost gentle despite the violence of what she was doing. “Imagine being thirsty, but for everything. Imagine starving, but food doesn’t exist yet. Imagine needing to breathe in an existence that hasn’t invented air.”
Ozymandias hung in the air, his form now truly skeletal, looking like death had died and left only its outline behind. Through their connection, Noah felt the overwhelming need radiating from his other self…not for anything specific, but for anything at all!
Sigrid watched with Order trying to understand what was happening and failing. “He… looks like he wants to die.”
“No,” Khor corrected. “He wants to live so badly that current existence isn’t enough. That’s the paradox of Inevitabilities…we hunger for everything because nothing satisfies.”
She raised her hands higher, and Ozymandias’s skeletal form began to pulse.
“But Hunger alone is just suffering without purpose. It needs guidance. Direction. A Way of Existence that transforms random want into inevitable consumption.” Her smile contained mysteries. “And that is something only I can provide. My gift to him…not my power, but my understanding of what Hunger means. The Way of Existence of Inevitabilities.”
…!
Obsidian brilliance erupted from her tiny form, a bundle of darkness so dense it made night jealous. It flowed upward into Ozymandias like inverse lightning, filling his skeletal frame with something that transcended substance.
