The role of the one looked down on was not new to Noah!
Beside him, Sigrid merely tilted her head. The ringlets of her pale dark and white hair caught the light, gleaming like a halo of frost.
"You don’t need to worry about that," she said. "As long as you play your part. And is a Sponsor really needed if you and other Living Origins will constantly be watching my back?"
Altheon did not argue.
"I understand, Young Miss," he said, bowing his head slightly. "I will get started."
His luminous figure shimmered and faded.
The golden haze blanketing the frozen domain dissipated slowly.
And all around them, time returned to its flow.
The Masters of Existence and Primarchs stirred once more.
None of them knew. None of them even noticed. Their expressions remained unchanged, their thoughts continuing along paths interrupted only by the barest blink. As if no pause had ever occurred.
They resumed looking around, eyes filled with anticipation and awe.
Noah’s gaze swept over them. These beings, powerful as they were, hadn’t even realized their existences had been paused. That their threads had been severed for a single beat of judgment. He shook his head slowly.
"They don’t even know," he muttered.
His thoughts turned. If Altheon had tried to freeze him...
Would he have succeeded?
The Glyph of the Protagonist spun in quiet brilliance against his forehead. It glowed with pride, with defiance. And deep within his being, something ancient pulsed. Something that did not yield.
An Early Creature could not and should not be frozen by one less!
Not completely!
As he thought this, in the next instant...
BOOM!
The skies shattered like brittle crystal above them.
The frozen clouds of radiant frost cracked apart as the heavens split, and from the void, a towering doorway unfolded. White-gold and endless, etched with runes of Living Origin so intricate they seemed to whisper to the soul.
The Gateway to the Transcendent Origin Battlefront Folds had appeared.
Altheon’s voice thundered once more, this time cold and clear, stripped of all earlier warmth.
|The Gate is open. Victors of the Labyrinth- pass through, and you shall arrive in the Transcendent Origin Battlefront Folds.|
HUUM!
All around, Masters of Existence and Primarchs turned to one another. Their bodies blurred into streams of celestial light, surging toward the shattered glimmering skies!
Excitement. Purpose. The promise of battle and treasure- of progression!
Among them, Master Neinoro turned back, casting his long calculating gaze at Sigrid and Noah.
He bowed low toward Sigrid, the curve of his spine as smooth as oil.
"I hope none of my earlier actions caused offense, Honored Miss," he said, tone silken and insincere. "In the Folds ahead, if you require help... I will ensure all of us are ready to assist."
Then he turned his face toward Noah and nodded, his smile slick.
He turned and ascended, a stream of white light vanishing into the gateway as others from the Law Folds followed in his wake.
Noah watched him go without blinking.
His eyes then slid to Kalysta and Master Etheopa.
They stood silently beneath the branches of frost-laden trees, gazes lifted toward the open gateway above. Wonder and hesitation shone in their eyes.
He returned to Sigrid and stopped at her side.
