"That guy and the little girl kinda look alike, maybe they're siblings. The old lady could be their grandma."
"I bet they're all smitten by Cornelia's beauty."
"Are Robison and his wife home? They should have a word with that guy. Definitely can't let that shameless girl have it too easy."
As they were talking, the man in the distance suddenly looked up at them. Just a quick glance, and they all shivered in fear.
"That guy's got some scary eyes."
"Do you think he's a fugitive?"
"Could be, why else would he be with Cornelia?"
"Should we call the cops? Get them arrested."
"Call the cops! We can't have a murderer in our neighborhood."
"I don't think he's a criminal though. Doesn't have the look or vibe of one."
"You can't judge a book by its cover."
"Your husband? You're married?" Leila's daughter's husband looked like a durian with a bumpy face that made one want to puke just looking at it.
Cornelia's husband was so good looking, even better than TV stars. Seeing him made her feel quite bitter. Her daughter's husband being not good, she didn't want other's daughters to have good ones either, so she said with a sarcastic tone, "Do they know about what you did in Rosenberg? Bet they don't!"
"What did she do in Rosenberg?" Marcus stepped in front of Cornelia, blocking those malicious gazes, "You better have evidence, or else you're just slandering. You know what slander is, right? If you don't, you can look it up online."
And there was Grandma Luisa, there was no way she'd let anyone bully Cornelia, "You're all women. We shouldn't be giving each other a hard time. We know what kind of person Cornelia is, and we certainly don't need you gossipers judging. If I hear you slandering her again, I won't let it slide."
Briana also stood up for Cornelia, "She's the best girl in the world, and if anyone dares slander her, I won't let it slide either."
