Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband novel Chapter 616

Cameron said, "Ask her to open her bag and we can check it."

Leonardo replied, "Or you could call the cops and let them handle it."

Cameron shot Leonardo an angry look. "Are you implying I do not dare to call the police?"

Leonardo shrugged, "Whatever floats your boat."

"Nobody's leaving until the cops get here. Stay put," Cameron pulled out his phone and dialed 911. After explaining the situation briefly, he shot Cornelia and her friends a glare before storming off.

The cops would take some time to arrive, so the spectators began to disperse. Some went to grab food, while others grabbed drinks, planning to refuel before the drama continued.

Once the others had left, Cornelia and her group found a place to sit.

Ryan eyed the necklace around Cornelia's neck, partially hidden beneath her clothing. He leaned in and whispered, "Is that a star pendant on your necklace, Cornelia?"

Cornelia nodded.

Ryan said, "Wow! So you're the real owner of the Heavenly Radiance!"

It turned out that the buyer of the $30 million necklace in Paris a year ago was Marcus.

Cornelia admitted, "He didn't tell me. I had no idea..."

The "he" she referred to was obviously Marcus. Ryan understood, "If he gave it to you, it's gotta be legit."

Leonardo glared at her, "You're cracking jokes at a time like this?"

Cornelia retorted, "Would you rather I cry?"

Leonardo suggested, "You could give me the necklace. If they find it on me, I'll say I borrowed it just for fun. That should defuse the situation."

Cornelia shook her head, and a hint of coldness flickered in her clear eyes as she said. "No way. I didn't provoke them, but they're trying to harm me. I won't just let it slide."

Leonardo asked, "What's your plan?"

Cornelia whispered something in Leonardo's ear. He nodded, "Don't worry, I've got you."
