Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband novel Chapter 327

Cornelia said coolly, "I'm planning to spend my life with Jeremy, but who knows what the future holds. What if I'm still not back home, and Jeremy falls for some other girl?"

Maybe it was the slew of past disappointments, but Cornelia always kept a backup plan, so no matter how things went with Jeremy, she could keep living life on her terms.

"He won't fall for another woman. He’ll be forever loyal to your marriage, please trust him." His voice was deep, pleasant, and dead serious. It felt like he was the one making the promise to her.

Cornelia didn't understand why Marcus insisted on making these promises for Jeremy - Jeremy himself probably wasn't as sure. "President Hartley, I've told you before, you're not him. Whatever you say on his behalf doesn't count."

Marcus responded, "Every word I say counts."

Cornelia didn't want to debate this anymore, so she took the dough that Marcus had kneaded.

Marcus knew that his words hadn't convinced Cornelia, and she didn't want to talk about it anymore. If he persisted, the clever girl would surely see through him, so he had no choice but to continue to make bread with her. "Can I give it a try?"

"Of course." Cornelia handed him another piece of dough.

Without a second thought, Cornelia got a wet wipe and gently wiped the flour off his eyelashes.

At this close distance, she could clearly see his long, beautiful eyelashes. Paired with his flawless face, he looked like a piece of art. It was rare to see such perfect looks on anyone.

After cleaning the flour off his eyelashes, Cornelia also wiped the flour off his face.
