Elizabeth sat on the bed, holding a fresh lemon in hand.
She put the lemon by her nose and smelled it from time to time. Every time she did that, she sighed with satisfaction.
James sat on the edge of the bed. When he saw her like this, he was amused, but he was somewhat depressed in heart.
"Hey." Elizabeth waved at James, "What's wrong with you? Why do you look so unhappy?"
James glanced at her, "Do I look unhappy?"
Elizabeth nodded, "Of course, or why do I ask you like this?"
James said gloomily, "It's all because of your morning sickness. I'm... very upset now." Sure enough... he felt smug too soon.
Elizabeth sighed, "I'm also a bit upset, but there's nothing we can do." She shrugged her shoulders, "This is the common reaction that many pregnant women have, and I can't control it."
"However." Elizabeth continued, "The doctor said that I could smell lemon when I feel
uncomfortable. I think it works. Look at me now! I'm not as uncomfortable as I was just now."
In this morning, she felt sick by smelling the fish soup. However, later, she felt uncomfortable because of everything that was a bit pungent.
She felt much more comfortable by smelling the lemon, and she felt that her life was so happy when she didn't want to retch.
"What about when you eat?" James stared at Elizabeth, "What if you feel uncomfortable when you smell something? Do you have to take the lemon with you when you eat? Can you have a good meal in that way?"
"We haven't eaten yet, right? We'll talk about it later." Elizabeth smiled and didn't feel that her mood was affected at all. In the morning, she was worried that she had a stomachache, but she didn't, so she was relieved and thought that she could hold on.
"Alas!"
Hearing James's sigh, Elizabeth pulled his hand, "Don't be like this. I am the person who is going to throw up, but I am not as sad as you." Why did he act as if he was the person who would throw up?
"What if you vomit during the meal?"
"Didn't you hear what the doctor said? I should have a light diet. If I still vomit, I can only have porridge."
James closed his eyes, "In that case, can you stand it?"
"Why can't I?" Elizabeth was unconcerned, "Have you watched the TV dramas about wars or village lives?"
As soon as she said this, James shook his head honestly, "No."
Elizabeth was silent for a while and then said, "Anyway, when there was a war or when people lived a poor life, pregnant women should still give birth to babies, right? They were poor and couldn't eat good food, but they gave birth to babies. Think about it. How difficult it was!"
"Perhaps." James replied without interest.
Why did she talk about the TV dramas? He had always been worried about whether she could have a good meal or not. What's the point of talking about other people's business? Moreover, it was just a plot in TV drama...
"Yesterday, I said that I wanted to praise this boy, but he immediately went against me." As soon as James said this, he frowned hard. He didn't check whether the baby in her belly was a boy or a girl, but at this time...
He was sure that it was a boy.
Daughters were all sweet and definitely cared about their parents. The baby made Elizabeth uncomfortable that day... He always thought that it was a boy and he wished that it could be a boy. Although he didn't expect that his son could be considerate, he didn't want him to be too naughty.
Elizabeth repressed her smile, "What does it have to do with him?"
"It's his fault!" James gritted his teeth, "He not only goes against me, but also tortures you."
The more he said, the angrier he became, "I'll absolutely give him a lesson after he's born!"
Elizabeth exhaled, "Why are you so unreasonable?"
"A father doesn't need to be reasonable in front of his son."
Elizabeth took a deep breath and spoke for her child, "You're not the one who suffer from morning sickness. Even I don't blame him. Why are you so mad?"
James snorted, "If I'm the one who will vomit, I might not be so angry."
