Three days passed in a blink.
Following the custom of A City, groom should pick up the bride from her own home.
But Elizabeth was an orphan. Though she won her house back, she was alone. Moreover, she was pregnant and couldn't move around.
Therefore, Lydia decided to ask Elizabeth to stay in Lu Mansion, and James to come from elsewhere.
James would depart from the villa by South Lake, picked up Elizabeth in Lu Mansion, spent their wedding night in the villa by South Lake, and then returned to Lu Mansion the next day.
James was a little dissatisfied with the decision. He said that they had already been married and asked why to make it so complicated for the wedding. What he cared the most was that he wouldn't be able to sleep with Elizabeth the night before wedding if he needed to depart from the villa by South Lake the next morning.
Lydia didn't listen to him. She only said that she couldn't break the rules, which may do harm to their happiness. She could only take it seriously.
Even though James insisted that those were all superstition, Lydia was not willing to compromise at all.
In the end, James had no choice but to compromise.
On the early morning of this day, Elizabeth got up early for dressing up. The top stylist team James hired worked nice and quick. The carefully dressed- up Elizabeth looked more than beautiful.
Evelyn came after dressing up herself. The moment she entered the room, she exclaimed, "OMG! Who am I watching?"
Elizabeth saw Evelyn standing at the door and staring at her in a daze. She couldn't help but laugh, "Who else could it be? Of course, it's me."
"Now I know hearing your voice. I thought I find the wrong door." Evelyn walked in while grinning, "Elizabeth, you're so beautiful today."
Elizabeth smiled shyly. "I don't look like myself, do I?"
"You do." Evelyn shook her head. "I'm just surprised at how beautiful you are after dressing up well. Of course, I always knew that you are beautiful. But you don't wear makeups usually. So..." she seriously thought for a moment, and then continued, "Anyway, you are more than beautiful today!"
"Thank you."
"James may not be able to move when he sees you later."
"Well, don't tease me."
"No, I don't. I'm just telling the truth. How lucky James is to marry the beautiful you! He is so lucky."
"You are also very beautiful today."
Evelyn touched her nose and said, "Well, thanks to the dress you made for me."
"I mean it. It's also the first time I've seen you put on makeup."
Evelyn cleared her throat and said, "Well, stop praising each other. Anyway, you are beautiful today, and I am... not bad! Well, I have looked in the mirror after the makeup artist and stylist dressed me up. To be honest, it really worth the money. I looked much more beautiful than I was other day."
Benjamin, Isaac, and Xavier were all waiting in the living room. While waiting for James, they chatted with each other from time to time. When they saw James waking down, they all stopped talking and turned to look at the beamish James.
James raised his eyebrows slightly and asked, "How do you think? Aren't I handsome today?"
Isaac shrugged, and Benjamin grimaced.
James complained, "Hey, what do you mean?"
Benjamin said, "Can't you tell it?"
"I know. You are jealous." James teased, "Being single at your age, you must be annoyed watching me getting married, aren't you?"
Benjamin replied while grinning immediately, "I won't argue with you on your big day. All right, you look good."
Xavier echoed, "Well, you look very good."
James grinned to Xavier, "Xavier, you really have an extraordinary taste." He also thought Xavier broad-minded.
"Let's go. It is time to depart. Elizabeth is waiting for you." Xavier said.
"Right." James nodded while grinning. He checked his clothes and said, "Let's go. My wife is waiting."
