"It's good that you won't plead for her." Xavier was a little relieved.
"Believe me."
"Okay." Xavier nodded, "Say it."
"Well... she said that she had something that you didn't want before, and she had always kept them for you. She... wanted me to tell you about it, and she hoped that you could get them back."
Xavier raised his head and stared at Elizabeth, "Mine?"
Elizabeth coughed lightly, "Yeah. This is why she wanted me to see her."
"What's that?"
"Some of your paintings. She said... you threw them away in the past, and she felt pity for them. She said that she wanted to give them back to you because she thought those paintings were excellent."
Xavier narrowed his eyes, and his face darkened.
The paintings he threw away?
He seldom threw away his paintings. As for those which had been abandoned by him... they should be painted when he was in a terrible mood and a bad state of mind.
In fact, those paintings were not bad. They were true portrayal of his mood. He couldn't tell others how he felt, so he could only vent his emotions by painting.
However, every time he finished drawing, he felt that the paintings arose out of his real mood. The emotions in the paintings were so intense, which made him have a nervous breakdown and become more and more depressed. Therefore, he could only destroy those paintings after he finished drawing. He lied to himself that he had never painted those things, and he had never been so desperate.
What was even more ridiculous was that after he destroyed those paintings, he would continue to draw new paintings, because he didn't know what else he could do except for painting.
Then, he destroyed them again. His whole life had come apart at the seams.
There were a few paintings that he didn't have time to destroy, and he had never seen them again, but he wasn't worried or sad. It turned out that... Zena had kept them, and she even cherished them so much.
All of a sudden,
Xavier was a maelstrom of churning emotions inside, and words couldn't describe how he felt.
Seeing that Xavier didn't say anything, Elizabeth didn't know what he was thinking, but she said, "She said that... she rented a house to keep your paintings specially, including your first painting."
Xavier suddenly widened his eyes and sat up straight. There seemed to be a lot of emotions in his eyes. But after a few seconds, he leaned back in the chair, and his expression eased a lot, as if he had not heard anything.
"Yeah." Xavier smiled, "Forget it. Deal with those paintings for me, or... just pretend that you don't know anything. As for that house... Zena is in the prison now. Even if you don't help me deal with those paintings, the landlord will take back the house if she doesn't pay the rent."
Elizabeth didn't expect Xavier to say like this. She was shocked and blurted out, "Sebastian..."
"Stop. I don't want to listen to anything now." Xavier smiled apologetically, "Elizabeth, yesterday Jimmy told me to take you home. I have something to do, so I won't stay here with you. Let me send you home first, okay?" Elizabeth suddenly felt a little angry, although she didn't know what she was angry about.
Was it because she tried so hard to ask him to come out, but he refused her good intentions? Was it because he was unwilling to change himself? Or was it because he refused to see those paintings and she couldn't drag him out of the morass of despair like what had happened in the TV show?
She didn't know. She even thought that she was a little ridiculous.
Although she didn't except Xavier's attitude to be like this, she knew that he was a person who had his own thinking. He had his own judgment and right to choose. She knew that he could choose to do whatever he liked.
She knew... all these, but she was still mad and a little helpless.
Therefore, she said in a bad tone, "What if I don't want to go back now? Will you go back first or send me back when I want to go back?"
Xavier sighed and looked at Elizabeth, saying, "Elizabeth, you have been out for a long time. Go back to rest early." Moreover, he was not in a good mood. He felt terrible. He wanted to go back and redeem himself. He didn't want to see anyone and didn't want to think about anything. He just wanted to stay alone.
"Sebastian, are you escaping?"
