I Only Want You novel Chapter 80

Closer!

And even closer!

Elizabeth Liang's big and glistening eyes were impossibly widened as she stared blankly at James Lu approaching her face.

Was...

Was he going to kiss her?

What should she do? Should she refuse? Or accept him?

An intense battle was happening in her mind, but that didn't stop her body from reacting honestly. Looking at James's handsome face getting closer and closer, Elizabeth tightly shut her eyes, even though her nose was still bleeding everywhere and looked disastrous.

James was much taller than Elizabeth. Even as he leaned down, he could see every single one of her movements and expressions.

When his lips were about two inches away from hers, a thought flashed across his mind. What was wrong with him? Why did he have the ridiculous thought of kissing her? Why did he want to kiss this stupid and idiotic woman who was literally bleeding from her nose?

There was a bloody smell in the air.

James paused and suppressed the weird irritation in his heart. He curled his thin lips a little and said, "Elizabeth!"

"Hmm?" Elizabeth nervously clenched her fists and answered him dumbly.

James's breath gently touched Elizabeth's cheeks. It felt a little tickly, but also somewhat numbing at the same time.

"Hoo—" He blew at her and sneered. "Why are you closing your eyes? Do you think that I'm going to kiss you?"

"Huh?" Elizabeth opened her eyes and looked at him in confusion, she looked silly yet also very cute.

"Damn it!" James cursed quietly and immediately let her go. He turned around and walked two steps away from her as he quietly inhaled.

Why was this little dumba*s looking at him with such an adorably stupid expression?!

Did she have any idea how hard it was to hold himself back?

"..." Elizabeth took a step back because of his movements.

When she firmly found her footing, she looked at him and was about to speak, but suddenly realized that there was a bloody taste in her mouth. She froze and then frantically covered her mouth with her hand.

Elizabeth was embarrassed and anxious, upset by knowing that she must look pathetic and ugly right now.

Why did she always have to make a fool of herself in front of James? "Why are you still standing there, you idiot?!" James angrily shouted, "Raise your head!"

"Okay..."

Elizabeth obediently raised her head, but there were still red stains between her fingers. James frowned, took off his shirt, and threw it on her. "Wipe yourself with this."

James stopped interacting with her after that. He turned around and took out a cigarette from his pant pocket, then began taking one long drag after another.

Elizabeth held the shirt he threw over to her in her hands. She was a little stunned, but her heart felt warm. She was staring at the bronze skin on his back when she realized that her nose, which had cooled down a little, was heating up again.

Shocked, Elizabeth hurriedly turned around to avoid looking at him.

When she finally managed to control her nosebleed, she turned back to him with a lowered head. "I... I'm fine now..."

James had also calmed down a little. When he heard her, he dropped his third half- finished cigarette onto the ground. "Let's go."

"But..." Elizabeth looked down at the white shirt in her hands which she had painted all over with her blood. She looked upset as she said, "Your shirt's ruined, what..."

"I don't want it!"

"But you're..." She pointed at him, embarrassed. "You're just gonna go out like this?" Completely shirtless?

James glanced at the jacket beside him. "I have a jacket. Let's go!1' He couldn't suffer through another second here!

"Oh!" Elizabeth nodded. "I'll... I'll wash it for you... when we get home!"

James frowned, then turned around and looked at Elizabeth's nose and lips which were still slightly stained red. He sighed and said, "Throw it away!"

James looked away from her, then picked up his jacket and gave it a shake. Just as he was about to put it on, what looked like a stiff piece of paper fell out from one of the pockets.

"You dropped something!" Elizabeth shouted.

She bent down to pick it up as she said this, but James was faster.

He immediately picked up the object and looked somewhat uneasy as he quickly hid it behind him. "Mind your own business!"

F*ck! That dumba*s almost picked it up! It was the photo of her! Who knew what she would've thought of him! Good thing he was so agile and had lightning reflexes!

James turned around and stuffed the photo inside the inner breast pocket before putting the jacket on. His heart was still beating out of his chest from the incident just now.

He was annoyed and agitated by this feeling. Looking at the drawing board on the side, he stepped forward and released the clip, then pulled out his self-portrait that he drew every single line and stroke of all while holding Elizabeth's hand. He declared ruthlessly, "I'm taking this!"

"What?" Elizabeth was still holding his dirty clothes, and felt pissed when she heard this. "I have to hand that in today!"

"Of course I am, mom. You can go and watch TV first, I'll start cooking soon." After that, Elizabeth went upstairs to put down her bag, quickly cleaned herself up in the bathroom, and then came downstairs again.

About thirty minutes later, five dishes and a soup magically appeared on the dining table thanks to Elizabeth.

Lydia couldn't stop exclaiming in awe as she stood by the table.

"Oh my god, you really are amazing Elizabeth! You made all this in such a short time, and they all look SO delicious!"

James, who had changed into a set of loungewear, came downstairs looking completely unfazed. He sat right in his usual seat with a hint of pride on his face. "What's the big deal? I eat this every day!" Except for last night!

After Elizabeth finished serving the rice, Lydia's eyes bursted with admiration as she sniffed the rice in front of her. She joyfully praised Elizabeth, "Wow! Even the rice smells better than Auntie Chang's!" With this, her face drooped. "Agh! Why can't I make food that looks and smells as good as this?" James snorted, "It would be a feat for you to not burn down the kitchen, so don't even worry about cooking."

"Jimmy, you..." Lydia recalled the majestic mess that she had made last time. Feeling defeated and helpless, Lydia had no choice but to turn her misery into appetite and busy herself with her food.

As dinner went on, Lydia's taste buds were satisfied and she no longer remembered how cruelly her son had hurt her. She looked at James, and then looked at Elizabeth who was eating quietly. She blinked her eyes and asked curiously, "By the way, why haven't I heard any news yet?"

James didn't think much of it and just asked, "What news?"

"News of..." Lydia quickly glanced towards Elizabeth's stomach. "Of a baby! You guys have tied the knot already, shouldn't a baby be next?"

"Hack, ack, ahem..." Elizabeth coughed violently from choking on the rice in her mouth, even her face began turning red.

James sighed in annoyance and knocked on his bowl with his chopsticks. "What the hell is going on in your head all day, Mrs. Song? Are we supposed to give birth as soon as we get married?"

He couldn't even have a kiss all this time, how could they possibly have a baby?

James suddenly froze when he thought about kissing. If he hadn't stopped in time just now...

"You two live under the same roof and sleep in the same bed every day, it wouldn't be strange at all to expect a baby, would it?" Lydia asserted coolly. "Hack ack ack..." Elizabeth had another coughing fit.

"Are you alright, Elizabeth?" Lydia looked worried, then she looked at James and reminded him, "Jimmy, your wife is choking, can't you give her a pat since you're so close to her?"

"It's... ahem... it's okay..." Elizabeth waved her hand with a reddened face. "I'll go to the kitchen... ahem... for a moment..." She left her bowl and chopsticks and dashed to the kitchen.

It would be wise to stay away from the distressing and turbulent dining table for the time being.

"Haah!" Lydia looked towards the kitchen and shook her head with a sigh. Disappointed in her son, she began telling him off, "You can't even pat her on the back when I ask you to? Are you made of stone?"

James raised his eyebrows and silently continued eating.

"Jimmy, be honest with mom, you don't have a baby just because you don't know how to take the initiative, like what happened just now?"
