I Only Want You novel Chapter 63

"Yes, yes, of course!" President Fang nodded repeatedly with a smile. "No wonder you're such an outstanding entrepreneur in A City, Mr. Lu! You could have easily sent a trusted agent to inspect the place for you, but you took the hands-on approach! You are a role model to the people of the whole A City, Mr. Lu!"

President Fang was an impressively bootlicker when he was happy.

James Lu secretly grunted in his heart, but his face was waveless. "You flatter me, President Fang."

"Since you are already here, why don't we discuss this at my office?"

Flearing this, James coughed softly and refused him, "There's no need!"

"Um ..." the smile on President Fang's face flickered as he felt his dream of building a grand library crumbling away again.

"Ahem!" James managed a smile. "I am only here today to inspect the campus on my own. Flow about discussing the specifics on another day?"

Fie remembered a certain person and then added, "Flow about tomorrow?"

President Fang didn't dare to refute James, so he could only answer, "Well, well, you can come whenever you have the time, Mr. Lu, haha."

James was satisfied. Fie looked into the campus and smugly thought to himself, "Let's see who would win, Elizabeth Liang."

******

James, who was now in a slightly better mood, had a relaxed dinner outside before returning to South Lake.

Elizabeth still wasn't home when James returned to the villa, but he didn't seem too bothered by that. He had decided that if she still wasn't home by ten, he would ask his mother to call her.

Hmph!

Elizabeth was always putting up a good girl act in front of his mother, so he was confident that she would answer her call.

With his mind made up, he stretched his straight long legs onto the coffee table, and picked up the remote control to flip through the TV channels.

At Kuture.

Elizabeth was completely wiped out by the time she finished her work. Her waist injury had just happened yesterday. Although the medicine was applied, it was still difficult for her to bend down for an extended period of time.

Elizabeth thought about the comfortable and idyllic life that she used to lead. She had a privileged upbringing where she never had to worry about her living. Even in later years, she was given a perfectly sufficient allowance from her uncle.

She suddenly thought of James.

He was actually a very capable young man. Ever since James Lu became a part of her life, she couldn't help but pay attention to what was said about him.

The external world's comments on him were mostly praise. They talked about his stylish fashion and incredible good look, but most of all, he was known for his very business savvy, being a smart diplomat, a resolute hard worker, and extremely capable despite his young age. Many people were waiting to see him fail ever since he took over Lu Enterprises, but against their expectations, the company became even more powerful than before.

Perhaps it was because she had worked like a dog for most of the day, or maybe she was just bad at holding grudges. Elizabeth suddenly didn't feel so angry anymore. She thought about what Evelyn Wu said, and how James offered to take her to school this morning, and how he protected her so many times in such a short span of time ...

She couldn't really bring herself to be angry with him anymore.

Elizabeth lightly pounded her waist as she walked to her locker.

When she picked up her cellphone, she was flabbergasted to see 38 missed calls from a "Little Angry Lion".

She immediately called him back without hesitation.

But before the call connected, the phone ran out of power and turned itself off!

James had waited until his legs were numb when he finally saw Elizabeth coming back.

He smiled when seeing her rushing towards the house, very pleased that she was alone.

However, due to her late return, he felt like he should do something to vent his bad mood. So he stood behind the door before she entered, and was prepared to give her a "surprise".

As a result, she was definitely surprised, and very violent towards him on top of that.

F*ck!

How dare she hit him when she was the one who stayed out so late!

James grabbed her hands tightly with one hand, and turned on the lights with the other.

He violently slapped the switch a few times and the whole room was suddenly as bright as day.

Eliabeth stared at James who was standing before her and holding her in place. It took her quite a few seconds to come back to earth. "James!" She scowled at him, still recovering from what happened. "Why did you scare me like that? That was freaking terrifying!"

Elizabeth's heart was still beating wildly as her body trembled.

James let go of her hands and folded his arms. He tilted his head slightly and raised his eyebrows at her. "What do you have to fear if your conscience is clear?" Then he bent over and narrowed his dark eyes as he looked into her. "Or is your conscience not so clear?"

Elizabeth moved her wrists around to ease the slight pain he caused by grabbing her.

Remembering that she didn't make dinner for him because of her part-time job and that she missed all of his calls, she didn't sound very convincing when she retorted, "What? ... No!"

"It looks like that you can't even explain yourself clearly. Did I hit the nail on the head?" James sneered. "Say it. I might spare your life if your wrongdoing isn't too unacceptable!"
