After Elizabeth Liang entered the lobby of the Grand Dynasty Hotel, she took a deep breath and walked to the elevator.
Isaac Bai was accompanying Benjamin Cheng as the latter inspected the hotel. He was bored out of his mind when he suddenly spotted Elizabeth.
Isaac couldn't help but ask, "Hey, is Jimmy still here today?"
Benjamin shook his head, "No, he hasn't been here in days."
"That's strange."
"What's wrong?"
Isaac pointed at the elevator. "Do you see that girl in the white T- shirt? The one with a ponytail! She's Jimmy's wife, Elizabeth Liang."
"That's her?"
"If Jimmy isn't here, then why is she here?" Isaac thought for a moment. Then he took out his cellphone and dialed James Lu's number. He waited for a long time before James picked up. "Dude, come to the Grand Dynasty right now... What? You're busy? Well, you'd better make some time! Because your wife's at the Grand Dynasty ..."

Elizabeth nervously stood in front of the door of Room 2809. She tightly clenched her fists and tried to muster up some courage — "You can do it, Elizabeth!"
She pressed the doorbell —
"Ding-dong —"
The door didn't take long to open, but it felt like an eternity to Elizabeth. She managed to relax a little, but when she heard the sound of footsteps, her heart almost jumped to her throat again.
"Who are you looking for?" an elite-looking middle-aged man opened the door.
When seeing the stranger in the room, Elizabeth looked up at the room number in confusion. It was definitely 2809!
After she thought long and hard about it at home, she decided that she couldn't give up like that. She looked up information on Sir Wu on her phone and found out that he was a very powerful Chinese-American businessman. He was in China for the sole purpose of making investments.
Due to his status, naturally his residence in Shanghai was kept as a secret. Elizabeth had to ask Evelyn Wu to ask her cousin who works at a tabloid company where Sir Wu was staying.
However, why was it a stranger who opened the door?
"Excuse me, is Sir Wu here?" after a pause, Elizabeth asked timidly.
"And you are?"
Elizabeth felt a sense of hope when she was faced with the man's interrogating eyes. If he was asking her like this, that must mean she's got the right place! "Could you please tell Sir Wu that I am Elizabeth Liang, whom he met this morning at the South Suburb golf course?"
The man nodded. "Please wait a moment." After that, he turned around and closed the door.
Elizabeth stared into the wooden door, nervous and filled with anticipation.
After a short while, the door was opened again and the man nodded at her. "Miss Liang, Mr. Wu is waiting for you inside. Please come in!"
He made an inviting gesture. When Elizabeth entered the room, he did not follow her. Instead, he went out and shut the door.
The sound of the door closing was very slight, but it made Elizabeth's heart skip a beat.
"Aren't you James Lu's caddie? Why are you so eager to speak for him?" He picked up his teacup and took a sip. "I've heard that you seem to have deep relations with the Liang Company. Are you sure it's good for you to help out Lu Enterprises like Elizabeth froze for a second, then she said with a bitter smile, "Actually, I don't have anything to do with the Liang Company anymore."
Her heart ached, but she didn't want to show it.
Sir Wu watched her for a while and then pointed to the sofa next to her. "Sit down, little girl."
Elizabeth sat down, but she was still unsure of his intentions, so she spoke again, "Sir Wu ..."
Sir Wu smiled and said, "Are you still calling me Sir?"
"Huh?" Elizabeth was bewildered.
"I suppose it's natural that you've forgotten me after so many years," Sir Wu lamented. "But I recognized you straight away. You just look like your father Silas too much!"
"..." Elizabeth was still a little confused. "You... know my father?"
"Elizabeth, your father Silas was a close friend of mine. We were neighbors more than ten years ago. You should call me Uncle Wu." Sir Wu showed a kind yet sad smile. "Nobody knew that Silas would go so early. Look at you, you're all grown up now."
Sir Wu continued, "You weren't even ten years old the last time I saw you. You were so happy back then."
"Uncle Wu?" Elizabeth's head was buzzing. "Were you really my father's friend?"
Sir Wu nodded. "I was. He was not only my close friend, but also my savior." A deep sorrow enveloped him as he closed his eyes. "When my business failed, I was imprisoned for several years. Your father did everything he could to help me. When the debt collectors frequently came to my home, it was your father who arranged for my wife and Cosmo to leave the country and go to America. When I was released, he was also the one who gave me money so that I could stand back on my feet. But I kept having heart problems after I came out, and had to stay in the United States all these years. When I heard about what happened to your father and mother, I was so affected that I had to do a heart bypass."
He walked over, stood in front of Elizabeth, and reached out to pat her on the shoulder. "Under my doctor's orders, I couldn't lose my temper again or leave America. Although I couldn't return, I still paid careful attention to what you and the Liang Company were doing. When I learned that August Liang was managing the company for you, I even gave him a couple of big orders... as a token of appreciation for your father. Who knew..."
