The night sky, which had been dark, suddenly brightened up again.
The firework was very artful. It did not burst immediately but exploded when it reached a certain height in the sky. Of course, its height was a bit lower than the other fireworks. Clusters of white light bloomed around at an extremely fast speed, forming a flower-shaped firework.
"Wow! It's so beautiful!" Lydia looked at the sky and sighed, "The salesman didn't lie to me."
After that, she looked back at Elizabeth, "What do you think? Is it amazing?"
Elizabeth was looking at those bright fireworks earnestly. Hearing this, she immediately turned around and said to Lydia with a smile, "Yes, it's the best firework I've ever seen."
Yeah, it was really stunning.
Those fireworks which were ignited just now were specially customized, and the last firework should be the most ordinary one, but it was the most beautiful one.
Fireworks shot into the night sky, sending out colourful; just like the shooting stars which she and James had seen on the mountain before. It was spectacular. When the fireworks were about to disappear, countless small silver pieces fell in the sky. When they looked up, it was like heavy snow, and like falling stars.
Lydia was right. Those flowing beams of light and falling fragments were really like flying sparks.
Upstairs, the birthday song could still be heard.
Elizabeth was shocked when she saw such a scene which they specially prepared for her, and she was moved by the love and kindness of this family. She couldn't help but secretly look at the people standing next to her.
Her father- in- law, mother- in- law, and her beloved husband were standing beside her at this moment. John held Lydia's hand, while Lydia held her hand. Her other hand was tightly held by James.
They were together.
Tears suddenly ran down her cheeks again, blurring her eyes. She raised her head slightly and tried her best to hold back the tears.
James tilted his head to look at her and saw the smile on her face. Her eyes were brimming with tears because she was so touched.
The atmosphere was harmonious and warm. Suddenly, Lydia screamed, "Oh my god!"
John frowned slightly and asked, "What's wrong?"
Hearing this, Elizabeth and James immediately stopped laughing.
James asked in confusion, "Mom, what happened?"
Lydia broke free from John's hand and raised her hand to point in the direction of James and Elizabeth's bedroom, "It's... on fire!"
James had a look and took a deep breath. In his bedroom, the curtains were on fire, and the flames seemed to be big.
Elizabeth was shocked. Why were the curtains suddenly on fire?
John didn't say anything to stop James. He took the phone and was about to dial a number, but Lydia grabbed the phone and said, "Didn't you see that your son has gone to put out the fire? Why are you still in the mood to make a phone call? Shouldn't you help him?"
Although Elizabeth was worried about James, she persuaded Lydia when she heard this, "Mom, James has gone upstairs. Dad is old, so he'd better stay here."
Lydia cared about John very much, but at this time, she thought that James was more important to her than John. She didn't listen to Elizabeth and complained, "John, go and put out the fire! You... Hey, are you really going into the house?"
John didn't even look back, "You two stay right here!" After that, he ran towards the house
In a surprise, Lydia looked at John's back as he ran away in a hurry. She blinked her eyes and put her palms together with admiration in her eyes. She said shyly in a low voice, "Oh! John is really handsome!"
Fireworks were still exploding in the sky.
Under fireworks, looking at John's running back, Lydia suddenly smiled.
She seemed to have forgotten what she should pay attention to at this time, and just looked straight at his
figure. Her mind was buffeted by different thoughts and she suddenly thought of the days that they had spent together thirty years ago. At that time, John was always calm and elegant, but when he saw her, he always asked her not to move and walked to her quickly...
At the same time, while running, John thought in heart, "Am I old? I am only fifty-five years old this year, okay? Normally speaking, I am still a middle-aged man now. Why am I old? Elizabeth's words... really hurt my heart!"
"Wait, humph! I'll improve that I am actually a middle-aged man with my strength! No! I am still a young man!"
