I Only Want You novel Chapter 47

James Lu stood in the bathroom and looked carefully at himself in the mirror. When he saw his broken lip, he couldn't help but frown.

"F*ck!"

His unbelievably handsome face had always been one of his proudest assets. He was pissed now that it was ruined by a broken lip! This would really affect his image, alright?

He rubbed the corner of his lips and thought about what had just happened... and slowly pulled his lips into a grin...

Elizabeth Liang really was head over heels for his beauty, wasn't she? Not only did she kiss him when they rolled down the stairs, but she also did it again in the name of CPR...

Haha!

Ouch—

James left the bathroom irritably and caught sight of the drawing on the bedside table. He snorted, picked it up and looked at it carefully for a while, then put it into the drawer in a seemingly indifferent manner.

After James finished his meeting, he strode to his personal office with an unhappy face.

The more he thought about it the more it pissed him off! Those thick- skulled morons sitting below kept glancing at the corner of his lips throughout the meeting, James couldn't stand the way they looked at him!

"Boss!" Samuel Lee trotted behind James.

"What?" James stopped and asked in a rage.

"Today..." Samuel couldn't help but steal a glance at his usually cool and classy boss and tried to stifle his giggle.

When James saw that Samuel was desperately trying to hold back his laughter, James's eyes looked like they were about to spitfire. "What's wrong with you, are you constipated? Do you think I look ridiculous?"

James has decided that if Samuel dared to say yes, he was going to beat him up so bad even his family won't recognize him!

"Of course not!" Having to follow James all year round, Samuel has become a master at bluffing. He quickly straightened his face and put on a deadly serious expression. "You have a golf appointment with Sir Wu of Prosperity Estates at 2 o'clock."

"You think I can play golf looking like this?"

Putting aside the fact that he had a broken lip, he literally tumbled down a flight of stairs last night. His entire body was in pain and he did not want to do anything at all.

"Boss, Sir Wu just came back from the United States, and you know how difficult it is to meet with him." It took a ton of effort from Samuel and Anna to reach Sir Wu's secretary. "Plus, Sir Wu has quite a strange temper. If you miss today, I don't know how you can make up for it in the future."

Lu Enterprises started off as a trading company. In recent years after James took over, the company gradually branched out and developed their business in multiple industries, but their focus was still on large-scale shopping centers. Several major malls under Lu Enterprises have taken off recently, even in A City alone.

Prosperity Estates was a big name in the real estate industry. Its headquarter was located in the United States and they had a fantastic reputation. Prosperity has recently announced that they were going to sell a piece of land in the city center.

If Lu Enterprises could take that piece of property and build their own large shopping mall on it, it would be about far more than the money. After all, every inch of land downtown cost a fortune. To have your business there was an incredible symbol of status.

James annoyedly turned and walked into his office. He pointed at his lips, then raised his eyebrows and asked Samuel who was following him, "You want me to go golfing like this? Why don't you just kill me instead?"

His public image was really, really, REALLY important, okay?

Samuel closed the door behind him as he entered, and with the firm resignation that he was forever going to be a slave to the Lu company anyway, he began lecturing James with one eye closed, "Boss, can we be serious for a moment? We're talking about Prosperity Estates! The real estate company that everyone is dying to work with, okay? Yes, I know that you're already a big shot, boss, but we haven't had the chance to set up a shopping center downtown yet, right? Can you imagine how much bigger Lu Enterprises will become, even more than it already is if this goes well?! Besides, boss, you're already perfect and elegant and the most handsome person I know, that little cut won't do anything to your gorgeous face and noble aura."

"And anyway," Samuel said all of that in a single unbroken breath. He swallowed to moisten his throat and continued, "Nobody can even see that tiny little cut, okay? Oh dear, boss, are you hurt? Where? Where is the wound? Why can't I see it?"

As he said this, Samuel ran up to James exaggeratedly and carefully looked him up and down.

"..." A chill ran up James's spine as he pushed Samuel away. "Can you f*ck off from me? You're being gross!"

Samuel was not offended at all and chuckled mischievously.

That doesn't make sense at all! It was almost ten at night, which housekeeping company provided cleaners who work that late?

A beautiful young girl... and a handsome, successful bachelor CEO... spending the night under the same roof...

Looking at the corner of his boss's lips, Samuel shook his head.

It was already June, and the hotter the weather, the easier it was for sparks to fly, he supposed.

Samuel fully utilized his creative thinking and began giggling stupidly to himself.

"What's so funny?" James gritted his teeth. Looking at Samuel's impish smile, James knew that he was thinking of something not safe for work.

"Nothing!" Samuel shrugged, then suddenly realized something. "Is she the one you asked me to investigate and look up the number of?... E... Beth...?"

No wonder he thought she looked familiar last night.

James irritably stubbed out his half- smoked cigarette. He knew that Elizabeth was nothing but god damn trouble!

Hmph!

James's most famous quote was thus — If I'm happy, everyone's happy; if I'm not happy, no one gets to be happy!

"Tell the golf course I don't need a caddie."

"What?" He doesn't need a caddie? Was Mr Boss going to pick up the balls himself?

"I can bring my own, can't I?"
