Elizabeth Liang was sulking all day after the night at the Lu mansion.
Not only did that a*shole mess with her like that, he also made her sleep on the floor!
She did lay a quilt on the floor first, but it was nowhere near as comfortable as the bed. Her back has not stopped aching since she woke up, while James Lu relaxed with the bed all to himself. Elizabeth couldn't help but grind her teeth every time she thought of his content and pleased smile.
She is a lady, okay? How could he not have an ounce of chivalry in him? Just because she accidentally saw him showering? But he saw her too, didn't he?
Freaking jacka*s with no empathy!
Not to mention, Elizabeth was still extremely embarrased. At least they were both drunk when they fooled around last time, but yesterday... they were both sober!
Due to her embarrassment and anger from being forced to sleep on the floor, Elizabeth did not say a word to him when they ate at the table.
Needless to say, James returned the attitude. After he finished, he stood up and headed to the study, all cool and indifferent.
After cleaning up the kitchen, Elizabeth went to her room and began doing her homework for the day. She went back and forth between the east and west end every day and had to do the cooking and cleaning as well. She only had time to do her homework after dinner.
And on top of doing homework, she also had to find time to review the material.
The final exam was in half a month, and she had to try her best. Her grades have always been quite outstanding, but she wasn't going to let herself lose because of that. She wanted that scholarship more than anything.
If she gets the scholarship, then she won't have to worry about the tuition fee for the next semester.
Halfway through her assignments, Elizabeth found herself in a dilemma.
The assignment wasn't difficult, it was quite simple in fact, especially for her. The problem was that it was a computer drawing task, and she needed a computer. But she had no electronics with her other than her phone.
Elizabeth was scared to even imagine what would happen if she didn't complete this assignment given by her dean, who was known as "the Devil". She was certain that it would directly affect her exam scores.
After some inner turmoil, she decided to get up and walk towards James's study, since she knew he had a laptop there. She took a few pieces of A4 paper to use for making drafts.
Elizabeth raised her hand and gently knocked on the door.
She was quite nervous to be honest, since she had no idea if James would lend it to her or not.
She waited for a while, but didn't hear anything coming from the study.
After some hesitation, Elizabeth knocked again. Knock, knock, knock.
Still no response!
Did he go to sleep?
After some thought Elizabeth decided to go look for James in his bedroom. She didn't want to use his things without his permission.
As soon as she turned around, James opened the door of the study from inside.
"Oh, you were inside?" Elizabeth smiled happily, but realized how much of an a*shole he was the next second. He was inside all along, but had to make her knock twice before opening the door.
Hmph! Screw his games!
James had one hand in his pocket and the other on the door handle. He looked at her with a displeased expression and slightly frowned his dark eyebrows. "What do you want?"
"Urn... can I borrow your computer? I need to draw with a computer for an assignment," she gestured with her finger, "Just for a moment?"
James turned his head to glance at his desk then looked back at her again. "Is it urgent?"
"Are you using it?" Elizabeth didn't want to interrupt his work. "I'm not in a hurry."
But in the next second, she was completely stunned
On the computer screen were four elite-looking men staring at her with their eyes wide open!
Elizabeth was flustered. She thought that James was only having a voice call, how could she have known that it was actually a video call?
Well this was awkward.
"Sorry!" She hurriedly stood up and laughed in embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I didn't know this was a video call!"
Turns out James was having a video conference. She had wrongly accused him of not opening the door for her.
"Why are you standing there?" James, who was back with a tablet, looked unhappy. "Uh..." Elizabeth paused, looked away for a second, then quickly pretended to be cleaning. She began brushing away the almost non-existent dust on the table and organizing the already neatly arranged documents, "I... I'm cleaning... Wow there's so much dust..."
Her acting was not very convincing.
James barely managed to not roll his eyes into the back of his head. He walked over and handed her the tablet in his hand. "Here."
"Hehe..." Elizabeth smiled embarrassedly. "Thank you."
"Now." James pointed at her and then at the sofa to the side. "Go there!"
There was only a small coffee table less than a meter wide beside the sofa, she...
"Urn..." Elizabeth gripped the tablet. "I need to draw..."
"So?"
