I Only Want You novel Chapter 396

James had changed into his hospital gown. He lay on the bed with depression and looked so weak.

Elizabeth sat in a chair aside and looked at James who didn't want to talk to her at all, feeling disturbed and worried.

"James... how do you feel now?"

James turned his head arrogantly and ignored her!

"Sorry, I didn't know it would be like this..." Elizabeth rubbed her hands, "It's all my fault."

James thought, "It's nice that you know it!"

Seeing that he still didn't speak, Elizabeth sighed helplessly, "Don't be angry. How are your injuries?"

Hearing that she kept asking him, James, who originally wanted to be indifferent all the time, felt guilty. He coughed softly, sighed, and said sadly, "It hurts!"

He felt so painful. There was a swelling on his head and his back was covered with gauze. Moreover, his butt... He was really annoyed!

"I'm sorry. Don't be mad."

"Humph!" James didn't look at her, but snorted with a cold face, "Will you ask me to cook again?"

Elizabeth pursed her lips and thought of the messy kitchen. She shook her head subconsciously and said, "No." It was not a big deal if the kitchen was burnt. She was afraid that he would get hurt again and she would feel so distressed.

"Hmph!" At least she still had some conscience! "Well... I'm so sorry today."

Seeing that she was quite sincere, James didn't want to pretend anymore. He reached out and waved his hand in the air generously, "Forget it..." He didn't want to mention it anymore, because this matter really made him somber.

"You don't blame me anymore, do you?"

James turned his head to look at her, but the wound on his back was torn by accident, "Ouch!"

"What's wrong?" Elizabeth looked at him nervously.

"It hurts." He looked at her with grievances.

"What should I do? Should I go and ask the doctor to have a look?"

She turned around and wanted to leave, but he grabbed her hand and said in a muffled voice, "Don't do that." Even if the doctor was here, it would be useless, wouldn't it?

"Then..."

James shook her hand seriously and said, "You can blow it for me... Maybe it won't hurt anymore." He got injured because of her, so he had to gain something from her. Although it made him a little narrow-minded, he could only be happy in this way.

Elizabeth was stunned. Looking at James's eyes, her heart softened and she smiled, "Okay."

James was very satisfied and pointed to his back, "It hurts." She lifted his clothes and looked at the bandages wrapped with medicine. She felt so sad and wanted to touch it, but she was afraid of hurting him. Then she bent down and blew gently on his back.

James was lying prone with joy. Originally, he was smug because he could let her do something to make himself happy, but gradually, he felt a little depressed.

Her breathing was warm and soft, and his wounds didn't seem to be so painful, but it was itchy. The itch made his whole back stiff and even made his breathing heavier.

He clenched his fists tightly and gritted his teeth. D*mn it! Did he make things difficult for her or for himself?

"Honey..." He took a deep breath gloomily, "Stop it."

"It doesn't hurt anymore?"

James answered with a straight face, "Yes."

Elizabeth pursed her lips and blushed. She felt a little embarrassed and said, "Well... Doctor Bai, stay here and talk to him. I'll go and buy him something to eat."

Isaac nodded, "Okay."

In just a few seconds, only the two of them were left in the room.

"Are you back to work?" James maintained his previous posture, but he slightly raised his head to look at Isaac beside him.

"No."

"Why are you here..."

Isaac sat down on the chair beside the bed, "I came here today for the handover. I won't come here to work anymore." He said with a smile, "I didn't think that I was so busy before. But when I came here today, I found out that it even took me half a day to hand over my work."

He said in a light and relaxed tone, but James could know that he was somewhat upset and regretful.

James frowned, and his mood instantly became a little agitated. He got up with difficulty, "Ouch!"

Isaac looked at him with displeasure, "Why do you get up? Doesn't it hurt?"

"Of course it hurts!" James jumped out of bed. Enduring the pain caused by his injuries, he roared mournfully with his face darkened, "Isaac, my heart aches!"

In fact, Isaac chose to study medicine because of his mother. His poor mother had always been in poor health. Later, when he really became a doctor, his ambition was further developed. He worked hard not only for his mother, but also for more people who suffered from illness. James always remembered that after Isaac succeeded in his first surgery, he drank with him and Benjamin. That day, Isaac drank a lot, and he got drunken. He cried and laughed, keeping saying, "I've never had such a sense of accomplishment. I can give them a new life!"

What James always remembered was Isaac's excited, happy and proud eyes when he said those words.

James patted his chest, and his eyes were filled with tears, "Why did you study medicine? Do you still remember that? How can you give up your career like this? Aren't you distressed and sad?"
