I Only Want You novel Chapter 369

The rain outside the window was getting smaller and smaller.

James turned his head to look at the sleeping Elizabeth without blinking. His eyes were affectionate and complicated.

Those words she said just now echoed in his mind again and again. He felt bitter and touched. Besides, he was very glad that although he was disgusting and mean, he had Elizabeth who was simple and innocent but could warm his heart.

It was not until his eyes became a little sore that he closed them hard and relaxed a little. He got closer to her and gave her a gentle kiss on her smooth forehead. He silently smiled at her who was sleeping soundly, and then turned over lightly and got out of bed.

He put on his clothes quickly and walked to the door. Before he closed the door, he looked back at her affectionately.

He wanted to finish something in his heart. Otherwise, he would be in great pain and she would not be at ease because of his changeable mood.

The lights in the room were a little dim, and only the wall lamp on the bedside on. The light was yellow and a little hazy.

Xavier woke up from thirsty, and he felt that his throat was so dry, as if it was burnt.

He blinked on the bed and reached out to rub his aching forehead. Then he frowned and sat up, wanting to drink the water on the bedside table.

As soon as he touched the cup, he caught a glimpse of a figure standing at the door from the corner of his eyes.

Xavier was stunned for a moment before he looked up. Although he didn't know how long the man had been standing there, he wasn't surprised at all. He glanced at the man with a bland expression, and then calmly picked up the cup to drink.

"The water is cold. Add some hot water."

The man at the door said. There were no emotions in his voice, but he still walked over, took away the cup from Xavier's hand, and drained some of the cold water. He walked to the water dispenser poured some hot water before he walked to the bedside and handed the cup to Xavier.

Although Xavier had just had an intravenous drip and his fever had gone, he didn't have much strength because he had just woken up. He just sat on the bed and looked at James doing these things quietly.

Xavier stared at the cup in front of him, and then took a glance at James who was standing beside the bed. He took the cup and drank the water, "Why are you here, Jimmy?" His voice was hoarse and weak because he was sick, but he was not unpleasant at all, as if nothing had happened on the mountain a few hours ago.

"I came to see if you're dead." Xavier smiled, "I haven't died yet. Go back."

James frowned, walked to the bedside, and leaned against the wall. Regardless of the fact that he was in the ward and Xavier was a patient, he took out a cigarette from his pocket, bowed his head and lit it up, and then took a deep draw on it.

Xavier stared at him for a while and said, "Leave after smoking. I'm going to rest."

James still ignored him. After taking two deep draws, he opened his mouth and said lightly with determination, "I agree to your request..."

He hadn't blown the smoke in his mouth. As he spoke, the smoke spurted out irregularly along with the movements of his lips. His handsome but dejected face was vaguely covered by the smoke, and Xavier couldn't see his expression clearly.

Although... that might be very difficult to accept, very disgusting, and even painful. But he had no other choice or better retreat.

These years, he had already avoided this matter all the time. Since both of them couldn't get it over, let him end all these, even if he might still find it hard to accept.

"You..." Xavier's lips trembled slightly and he forced a smile, "Are you kidding me?"

When they were on the mountain, in addition to James's proposal to give him Lu Enterprises, he only made two requests... James said that he didn't want to give up Elizabeth, and he...

James shook his head and said, "No, I'm serious." "Xavier..." James gritted his teeth and said, "I was wrong before, even if I explained it to you at that time... Although I regretted it later, I still hurt you."

"I know that you have been living a hard life these years. In fact, I am not better than you. I feel very guilty. I clearly stopped it. I don't know what was wrong, and I don't know why it turned out to be like that."

"Perhaps you will think I'm quibbling, but I am not." James said as he closed his eyes sadly. With a helpless smile, he said, "But no matter what, it was my fault. You should blame me."

"I know that you are in pain and you can't accept that. Otherwise, your character wouldn't have changed all of a sudden. I didn't know that... you actually wanted to die until today." His eyes were a little sour, which made it difficult for him to speak, "It's all my fault, and I know that you haven't let go of it. In this case, as long as you're happy, I'll take it as a return for you. But, as for her, I won't give up on her no matter what."

"You..." Xavier said after a long while, "Are you sure you can accept it?"
