"It won't take long."
Although James said so, it was half an hour later before they finally got to where they would stay.
Elizabeth thought James had booked a hotel. When she arrived, she found that it was not a hotel. But it seemed to be better.
It was a two-story house built entirely out of wood. The house was about two hundred square feet. Half of the house was on the shore and half was in the sea. The waves were lapping and rolling up layers of white waves. The strong sea breeze blew with the unique smell of seawater.
"Let's go in and have a look?" James smiled at Elizabeth and then pointed to the house in front of them.
"Sure."
Elizabeth followed him into the house. The inside of the house was very different from the outside. It was modern and had all the needed furniture and appliances.
As soon as Elizabeth entered the house, she was first surprised at the floor in the house, which was made of glass. Because it was at night, it looked a little dark.
Elizabeth stepped on the floor carefully. She was afraid that she would fall down if she stepped a little harder. The next second, Elizabeth was attracted by the balcony that was facing the living room, which was more than ten meters long.
She was very surprised and cried out softly. She could not help but trot forward.
There was a lighthouse in the distance. Outside the balcony, there was a vast sea. A large string of wind chimes strung with seashells hung from the pillars. When the sea breeze blew, it made a loud and lovely sound.
"Do you like it?" James walked over from behind and gently held Elizabeth in his arms from her back. His chin was against her head. This posture was intimate and warm.
"Yes." Elizabeth nodded with a smile, "It's too beautiful here."
"I like it too." James kissed her on the top of her head, "Everywhere is beautiful as long as going with you."
Hearing this, Elizabeth felt as sweet as honey in her heart. She leaned in front of James and said nothing, but the smile on her face was as bright as the brightest sun in June.
"You didn't sleep much on the plane just now. You must be tired. Let's go to sleep first."
"Okay." Elizabeth nodded, then turned around and looked at James, "Today is your birthday. Happy birthday, James."
James raised his lips and smiled, "Thank you." He just answered, and then added, "Since we have come here, we just use the time here. Tomorrow is my birthday." If Elizabeth wanted to celebrate his birthday today, then the things he planned could not be done.
"But you are Chinese..."
James raised his eyebrows and said, "Chinese people can also follow the local customs when they go to other countries."
"Well, you..."
"Go to sleep now. Save your energy!" Only if Elizabeth had enough energy, he could have a good night with her tomorrow.
In the end, Elizabeth had no choice but to listen to him. After all, tomorrow was his birthday.
Elizabeth had just finished a long flight. She was really a bit tired from the long time without rest. After a simple wash-up, she fell asleep almost as soon as she lay on the bed.
What she didn't know was that after she fell asleep, James sat on the edge of the bed on her side and stared at her sleeping face for a long time. His gaze was gentle, and the corners of his mouth were slightly raised. And there was a long-lost quiet and peaceful in his heart...
She was really hungry. She had only eaten a few pieces of toast for such a long time. It would be strange if she was not hungry.
James said on the other end of the phone, "Well, you can open the door now, and someone will take you here."
Elizabeth held her mobile phone doubtfully and went to the door. As soon as she opened the door, there was indeed a foreign middle- aged man standing outside. No one knew how long he had been standing there.
The man smiled at Elizabeth as soon as he saw her, and then said, "Mrs. Lu, please come with me."
Elizabeth understood the man's accent perfectly and asked, "Did Mr. Lu ask you to pick me up?" Although James had already said that to her, it was better to be careful.
The man looked at the mobile phone she was still holding in her ear, "Of course, maybe you can ask Mr. Lu now."
After confirming it, she followed the man named Tom to the place where James was now.
The journey was not so far, and it took about 20 minutes to get there along the beach.
It was built entirely of wood and was very local. It looked like it had all kinds of entertainment facilities and restaurants in it. Tom was taking her to a western restaurant.
The big wooden door was still far from the restaurant, but as soon as Elizabeth stood in front of the restaurant, she couldn't help but be stunned. Now the sky was completely dark, but the restaurant had not turned on the lights.
"Tom, is Mr. Lu really here?" If he was here, why was there such a scene?
Tom nodded with a smile and pointed to the direction behind the wooden door, "Look over there!"
