"What happened between you and Lucho?"
Just as Myesha stood in front of Madelyn, Madelyn asked.
Myesha smiled awkwardly, "Nothing... happened."
Madelyn snorted coldly. "Do you think I'm a fool?"
Seeing that Myesha did not speak, Madelyn became even angrier. "It seems that you're bolder and bolder now! What did I say just now? Didn't I say that you must obey the rules since you have married into my family?"
"Mm..."
"Tell me. Did you quarrel with Lucho again?"
"No... I didn't."
"Are you still lying to me?" Madelyn patted the armrest of the sofa heavily, "If you didn't quarrel with him, how could he go out so late last night and hasn't come back yet?"
Myesha's heart skipped a beat. Has Lucho really said something to Madelyn?
"What's wrong with your expression? Are you unhappy?" Madelyn said with a sneer, "Are you qualified to feel unhappy? I asked you to come here yesterday, and you know what I mean, don't you? Didn't I make it clear to you? How long did you two stay in the room? Huh? Lucho soon left!"
"I... chased after him, but he... left."
"So do you mean that it's Lucho's fault?" Madelyn glared at Myesha with indifferent eyes, "Tell me. Is Lucho not good enough to you?"
"No." Myesha shook her head.
"Then why can't you take the initiative to get close to him?" Madelyn suddenly raised her voice, "In the past few years, have you ever got close to him on your own? He speaks for you every time, doesn't he? If it weren't for the fact that he only wanted to marry you, do you think I would agree to let you marry him? There were so many daughters from rich families I could choose!"
Madelyn went off the deep end and her breath became much heavier, "Forget it." She waved her hand, "Anyway, you've got married. There's no point talking about this! I just want you to change yourself. You and Lucho have been married for so many years, and you even have a daughter. Lucho is good to you, right? Can't you stop putting on airs and being so lofty? He's your husband, not your employee!"
"Think about it yourself. How much time do you spend sleeping on the same bed each year? Do you think you're in your seventies or eighties? You're Lucho's wife, not a decoration he bought!"
Myesha's face blushed scarlet when she was scolded by Madelyn like this and heard her talk about such a topic.
"But..." Myesha bit her lip, "Lucho..."
"Don't think so much." Madelyn said in an aggressive tone, "You should make it up quickly. I don't want to worry about you. Now your father doesn't know that you two have quarreled again. Otherwise, Lucho will be scolded again if he knows something. You don't want to see your husband suffer, do you?"
"Besides, only when you become reconciled can you give birth to another child. Daile is so cute. If we have another child, our family will be more lively."
"Mom, now I... don't know where Lucho is."
Madelyn seemed to have long known that Myesha would say this. She took out a piece of paper from her pocket and placed it on the small table in front of her, "I've called him. He stayed here last night and hasn't left yet." As she said this, she glanced at Myesha with a hint of disgust in her eyes, blaming her for not knowing to do such a simple thing.
However, the disgust soon disappeared.
Myesha pretended that she didn't see anything and bent over to pick up the paper.
Just as she was about to open it, Madelyn said, "Yesterday, he went there alone. He didn't bring anyone with him. Go to see him later with his favorite food and you will be on good terms again. You'll go there, won't you?"
