"Issac, it's so late. Why are you here?" Chloe stood on the small path outside her house and smiled sweetly as she looked at Isaac, who was standing in front of her with a calm face.
Isaac curled his lips mockingly. "Why do you think I'm here?"
Of course, Chloe knew why he came here.
The reason why she asked this question was that she wanted to hear some pleasant words.
However, since he had said this, she didn't want to pretend anymore. "You should know that we're about to get married, right? Did uncle tell you?"
"Thanks to you!"
"Issac, aren't you happy?" Chloe was a little annoyed, but she restrained herself and did not show it, "I am a woman. You know that it was not easy for me to propose our marriage shamelessly."
In order to marry Issac, she had to talk to her parents first and then meet Maxwell. She knew that he would be unhappy, but it didn't matter. She only wanted to marry him, and she could risk everything to marry him, including her dignity and pride. However, it was not so easy for her to do this.
"I didn't ask you to do that."
"Are you blaming me?"
Isaac didn't want to beat around the bush. "Yep."
"You!" Chloe looked at him with hatred and flew into a rage, out of humiliation.
After a long while, she exhaled, "But, Issac, I've talked to them. What do you want me to do now? I've told you that I'm determined to be with you and spend my whole life with you. I don't think that I've done anything wrong!" She just loved Issac and wanted to stay with him forever. It was not wrong, was it?
"You've done nothing wrong?" Isaac repeated her words and then sneered, "Chloe, if I didn't tell you that I wanted to break up with you, I might not blame you. But I told you about it, didn't I? You clearly remember it."
Chloe clenched her fists and looked around. Seeing that there was no one coming, she raised her voice, "But I have never promised you!"
Isaac was silent for a moment, and then said with a cold face, "Chloe, since I have proposed to break up with you, I will never marry you. So, I hope that you can tell my father. But if you think you're too ashamed to tell him, I will talk to him."
He had told Maxwell, but it didn't work. The reason why he said this to Chloe was that he wanted her to tell the truth by herself.
"No!" Chloe refused excitedly.
"You have to."
"Issac, I've told you many times that I won't agree to your request and I won't break up with you. I know that you only need someone to force you. Since you don't want to mention it on your own, I can tell them that I want to marry you. I think it's good. We've been together for a long time. If we really broke up, what will others think of me?" In that case, she not only couldn't get the man she loved, but also had to be gossiped about. She didn't want this!
"Besides, after we met uncle today, we roughly discussed about the date of our marriage. After returning home, my mother has told lots of people about this verbally. Even if you want me to talk to them now, have you ever thought about the reputation of me and my family?"
"I won't say it, and you're not allowed to tell them! I want to marry you! I want to live with you forever!"
Isaac stood at the door, staring at her with brooding eyes.
"You..." She breathed a sigh of relief. She had thought that he would not come back.
Since he was back, did it mean that he had dealt with everything?
"Did you buy a new phone?" Isaac frowned. His voice was a little low, but there was a hint of disappointment and self- mockery in his tone.
Hearing what he said, Adele suddenly realized what she was doing.
She was somewhat flustered and didn't know how to explain. Then she heard Isaac say, "Are you not used to... using that phone?"
"I..." She didn't know what to say for a while and felt a little nervous.
Isaac slowly walked to her and glanced at the mobile phone he bought for her... Well, the screen was broken. Then he looked away and saw the new mobile phone. He frowned hard and looked at her with gloomy eyes.
That new phone was definitely not something that she could afford to buy!
"Who gave it to her?
"Did you pick it up on the road?" His voice was very low, "Or..."
