There were two bedrooms and one living room in Aria's house.
Aria lived in one bedroom, and Alaina and Arvis lived in another. Originally, Avon wanted to go back to school, but he was afraid that he was not allowed to live in the dormitory anymore. Besides, it was so late and there was no bus. It would cost a lot if he go back by a taxi, so he slept on the sofa in the living room.
Alaina was lying on bed and thinking about something. Arvis didn't fall asleep, either.
"Arvis. It's late. Go to sleep." After that, Alaina said apologetically, "I'm very tired today. I won't tell you a story, okay?"
"Mm." Arvis nodded and closed his eyes very obediently.
Two minutes later, he opened his eyes again, "Mom..."
"What?"
"Uncle..." Arvis asked cautiously, "Can he still run in the school?"
Alaina turned to look at Arvis. Seeing the expression on his face, she felt bitter but warm. She raised her hand and touched his head, "Perhaps he can."
"What do you mean by 'perhaps'?"
Alaina thought for a moment, "I'm not sure now. Well... it may be a little difficult."
She really wanted to do something for Avon, but she did not know what she could do. She had learnt that Elroye wouldn't let Avon go when she went to see him that day. Although she was very regretful and helpless, what Elroye said was right.
Avon had done something wrong indeed. It was understandable that Elroye wanted to vent his anger on him. However... this punishment was too severe for them to bear.
The leader in the school would listen to Elroye, and Elroye wouldn't forgive Avon. She really didn't know what to do.
"Mom, if uncle can't run anymore, he will cry."
Alaina was stunned, "What?"
Arvis scratched his hair. He was too young, so he couldn't describe something in a very suitable way. After thinking for a long while, he felt that he could express what he thought, "For example, mom, I love you very much. If you don't want me anymore, I will cry, too."
Alaina clearly knew that
it was just a figure of speech, but she felt very grieved after hearing what Arvis said. She asked Arvis to lean against her arms, "I will never leave you, really."
"Mom, can you think of a way to help uncle? He runs so fast. He will cry if he can't run in the school anymore."
Alaina exhaled, "I will... try my best."
When Isaac came out of the bar, he couldn't even walk steadily.
The security guard outside the bar asked him if he needed driving service, but he waved his hand and refused.
He got on the car. Without fastening the seat belt, he started the car directly and left.
He hadn't drank for more than a year, except for the occasional times when he was very desperate, because drinking would cause trouble. He didn't have much time left, so he couldn't afford to waste his time. Sometimes, he only drank a little, and he never got dead drunk.
But he did drink too much that day.
Well, he drank a lot. He stumbled, but his mind was extremely clear.
What answered him was just the sound of the night wind. How could she really reply to him?
But he didn't care. He faced the stone tablet and sat down on the ground directly, "I haven't been here for a long time. It has been a month, right? Are you angry with me?"
As he said this, he took out a handkerchief from his pocket and gently wiped the stone tablet, "I've been very busy during this period of time. Most of the time, I can't even rest regularly. I know that if you're still by my side, you would definitely scold me, and then persuade me that my health is the most important. If I stay up late, you would bring me a midnight snack which is cooked by you personally..."
"Well, the food cooked by you is always delicious."
"They all said that you know what I'm doing here. This is a critical period. Three years will have passed soon. I've really waited for this moment for a long time. If I do it well, I... can really breathe a sigh of relief at that time."
"By the way, about mom..." He paused for a moment, "They told me that she seemed to have become more relaxed recently. She would go out for a walk occasionally, watch TV or do embroidery at home to kill time. It's actually quite good. What do you think?"
"To be honest, we haven't seen each other for two years nine months and eleven days." He stopped wiping the stone tablet, "Every day, I miss you very much. When I'm very tired, I really hope that you could be by my side. In that case, I won't feel tired no matter how weary I am."
"But, in fact, I do this for our future, right? If I can finish what I want to do earlier, I can see you earlier."
He smiled and reached out to touch the photo on the stone tablet. He rubbed the face on the photo with his finger tenderly, "Do you miss me? So... today... I saw you again?"
Recalling the scene in the hospital, he smiled gently again, "Today, it's different from before. In the past, my eyes always deceived me and I thought it was you, so I was always laughed at by others. It's also different from the scene in my dream. I always feel that it was real and... I even saw that you smiled at me."
"Three years will have passed soon, so you're here to remind me, right?"
"Or, are you ready to... pick me up?"
"Adele, wait a little longer, okay? When my company is floated on the stock market, when I become truly powerful, and when I save mom, I can leave with you. So, wait for me patiently, okay?"
