How to Destroy a Cheater Without Saying Goodbye novel Chapter 200

Eddy's eyes dimmed, but he could still picture his wife's radiant smile. He was certain he'd find her.

He'd barely stepped outside when he ran into Rebekah.

She was carrying a gift box. "Headed to see Mr. Jordan? Wait up! Let me drop this off for my sister-in-law, then I'll go with you."

"Your sister-in-law lives here?"

"Yeah, right next door to you."

Yesterday at the McCarthy estate, just as he was about to see Laney, he overheard someone talking about a wedding.

Eddy's dark eyes grew even more unreadable as he glanced past Rebekah and looked toward the door.

He remembered the slim figure he'd glimpsed last night through the curtains.

Rebekah knocked, and the door cracked open.

"Huh? You're not my sister-in-law!"

"The guest who stayed here checked out this morning," the new tenant said.

"Miss McCarthy, you could try calling your sister-in-law," the head bodyguard suggested.

"I wish I could, but I don't have her number," Rebekah said with a sigh. She couldn't contact her brother, either.

With her brother, it was always a one-way street—they were the ones waiting to be contacted. Even if they tried to call, their numbers would be blocked.

Just then, the current tenant brought something out.

"Is this your sister-in-law's? She left it behind."

It was a small acrylic keychain, with a photo of a toddler inside—maybe about two years old, bright-eyed and sweet-faced.

Eddy glanced at the keychain. The child was beautiful, and at first glance, looked a bit like Healy.

Rebekah turned the keychain over in her palm, frowning. "Why would my sister-in-law have a keychain with a kid's picture? They haven't even had the wedding yet."

Eddy didn't dwell on it. After all, most little kids look pretty similar when they're young.

"Forget it. I'll just give her the gift when my brother finally calls," Rebekah said, turning her focus back to Eddy. "Let's go see Mr. Jordan. No matter what, I'm going to help you get answers about Pacifica Isle today."
