How to Destroy a Cheater Without Saying Goodbye novel Chapter 102

But instead of stopping, their argument only escalated, as if they couldn't even hear her voice.

A chill swept over Blanche, leaving her frozen and hollow, like she'd been locked inside an icehouse. Suddenly, a small figure leaned in close—Healy stood on tiptoe, peering at her phone. "Mom, what are you looking at? You look so sad."

Startled, Blanche shoved Healy away and immediately ended the video call.

Healy tumbled onto the carpet and burst into loud, pitiful sobs.

His head was still wrapped in bandages, not yet healed, and being pushed over made him look even more fragile and miserable.

Hedwig and Vesta rushed out from the kitchen, quickly moving to help Healy up.

But Healy just reached out toward Blanche, refusing to stand, his voice muffled through tears. "Mommy, pick me up…"

Blanche wanted nothing more than to hold her child—her arms even reached out on instinct—but the memory of Eddy and Jeannette's betrayal flashed in her mind, along with the image of Healy, coached by Rhoda, shoving her to the ground.

Clutching her stomach, she turned and walked out of the apartment without looking back.

"Mom!" Healy's wailing cry echoed behind her, trapped outside the closing elevator doors.

Downstairs, Blanche was met by the bodyguard stationed at the entrance.

"Ma'am, Mr. Simmons has bought the entire building. No one will bother you," he said politely.

"Take me to the police station."

She knew there was no shaking off the bodyguard.

On the video call, Jeannette had claimed she'd helped Eddy catch the real culprit behind Blanche's suffering.

Blanche needed to know who it was.

The bodyguard nodded immediately, went to fetch the car, and—out of Blanche's sight—sent a message to Eddy.

At the police station's meeting room, Blanche finally saw Ingrid.

"Here to rub it in? Happy now? You've won—again." Ingrid's every word was laced with venom. "But come on, a little slander on the internet? How long do you think they'll keep me here? How much can they really fine me?"

She scoffed, not a trace of regret in her eyes as she stared Blanche down.
