“Celine!” Ralph was worried that she would make matters worse, so he called out to her.

However, Heather seemed unfazed by Celine’s remarks. She smirked, turned to her assistant, and added jokingly, “If she’s willing, then why not.”

“You!” Celine was furious. On the other hand, Ralph was worried that she would soil the meeting, so he quickly cut in, “She’s just joking, just joking! Mom, it’s not easy for Heather to handle her family business alone, so that she would assign some tasks to her assistant. I also agreed with her, and Heather doesn’t have much to ask for. “So soon?” Ralph asked, clearly confused by her intentions. At first, he thought she wanted to be with him, but then she requested a single room. So, was this a woman’s pride?

“It’s fine. We’re going to be a family soon anyways, and since Ms. Riggs, you’re comfortable with this, it’s a relief to me, too,” Margaret smiled and turned to her subordinates, “Make sure to clear a room for Ms. Riggs when we get home. Make sure that she’s settled in well and try your best to answer her requests if there are any.”

“Thank you for your kindness,” Heather smiled. Just then, she felt something strange and turned toward the floor about them. She could feel someone’s gaze on her, but there was no killing intention, so she did not continue to think about it and went back to talking to the people around her. However, the gaze was still there. Then, her eyes met with Alexander’s.

Alexander stood at the foot of the stairs leading to the floor above. He was openly looking at her with no fear of being caught. Heather knew exactly who Alexander was. She had, after all, done a background check on the Russell family. She already knew that he was difficult to deal with, but after seeing him in person, she realized that the information presented to her was obviously lacking.
