“Why are you guys so early?” Lily smiled and greeted Alexander. She stretched her hand toward him while he wrapped his hand around her waist. The two fit together perfectly.
Olivia could not help but blush when she saw how loving they were. She stared at her deadpan boyfriend and relented that she was unlikely to experience something like this.
"Why don’t you tell me how long it’s been since you last came home? Would you even consider coming home if I didn’t visit you today?” Alexander could not help but regret setting up the studio for his wife since she happily spent all her time here and forgot everything else.
"No, I’m almost done for today. The next step is to blend the finished product, and it's almost complete. I haven't slept well for several days, so I’ll surely go home and sleep well,” Lily said with a smile, then turned around and looked at Olivia. "You too, go home and have a good rest."
"I'm not tired. I can stay here and compute more detailed data," Olivia said hastily.
Standing on the sidelines, Edward glanced at her, "No, you're tired."
Olivia: "I-I'm not tired!"
"It’s obvious. You’re tired," Edward was a serious person. His words became more believable when he said that with a sullen attitude.
Olivia subconsciously raised her hand to touch her face and asked, puzzled, "Is it obvious?"
Lily could not help laughing out loud. Only then did Olivia realize that her deadpan boyfriend had made a fool of her again. She casually threw a pillow at Edward, but he caught it effortlessly. Olivia’s tantrum was nothing to him.
Alexander drove his own car while Lily sat in the passenger seat. It only took a while for her to fall asleep with her head against the window. After all, she was tired from her new job and endless rumors and slanders from all directions. She closed her eyes as her brows knitted together. There were faint dark circles under her eyes, and Alexander’s heart ached for her.
He slowed down the car, lowered the car’s air conditioner speed, and drove home without a word. Lily was so tired that she remained asleep even when they reached home. Alexander stopped the car and waited for her to wake up.
He was not in a hurry—instead, he was satisfied just looking at her sleeping face. The atmosphere in the car was silent but warm. That was the plain and genuine happiness he had yearned for.
Alexander felt he had everything now because of her.
Lily was in a daze but suddenly woke up in a startle. She opened her eyes and noticed the sky was already dark. Then she looked around and slowly remembered where she was.
