Eliza chuckled softly, "How could I forget? It's a gift from you, and I've been looking forward to it."
"Honey..." He wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling into her neck, "I just don't like you getting too close to Gabe. I'm feeling a bit jealous."
Eliza paused. So, it was about Gabe all along.
"We're just discussing business. His company is really professional, and their rates are fair. We've signed the contract already. We can't just back out, can we?"
"Could we not involve him next time, please?" Casper's display of vulnerability was on point.
Eliza hesitated, unsure whether to agree or not, "Let's talk about it later."
"Can't you just say no to other guys for me?"
Eliza burst out laughing, "Where did that come from? Casper, aren't your business partners mostly men too? Don't be silly. Let's get ready to head back to Falconridge."
She gently pushed him away, not wanting to linger on the topic.
Business is business. Life is life. She kept them separate.
The doorbell rang.
Eliza got up to answer it. It was Gabe.
"When are you heading back to Falconridge?" he asked.
Eliza glanced at Casper before replying, "It might take a bit longer."
"Alright, I won't wait around. I've got to work overtime these next few days to get the plans ready. Don't worry, the project won't be delayed."
Gabe promised confidently.
Eliza nodded, "I trust you. See you in Falconridge."
"Okay, see you."
"Take care on the way."
Eliza waved goodbye to Gabe. Once the door closed, she turned to see Casper's expression was as dark as a storm cloud.
She laughed, flinging herself into his arms, hugging him tightly, "What's up, Mr. Casper? Is it really that big of a deal?"
"Eliza, you're not thinking about my feelings at all."
She was busy in their studio, filming promotional videos.
Her agent brought her a coffee, "Ally, tonight, you have a gig with Mr. Casper. It's a tight schedule, so I brought your clothes. We won't be heading back."
Allysha was professional. The endorsement fee from Welton International was significant.
Working with Casper for promotions was part of her job.
"Alright."
During a break in their conversation, Allysha glanced up and recognized someone passing by the door, her body tensing, "Did I just see Gabe?"
Her agent had noticed him too but didn’t want Allysha tangled up with Gabe again. It would only cause trouble for her.
"He's been working with Casper's wife's company, Crystal Clear, so he's been around a lot."
Allysha's brow furrowed. So, he really was getting involved with Eliza?
"I'm pretty sure he's got a thing for her." Allysha's fingers clenched tightly.
