When Scott was done watching the livestream, he was wondering who was that smart to carry out such a plan. His first guess was Adam. Never would he have thought that George was the brains behind the operation.
George ignored Scott's shocked expression. He looked at Shannon and asked, "How did you know I'm the one?"
"When Francis and Sheila were taken away, I saw the latest changes on their 12th house."
At first, Shannon was just hazarding a guess. But when she saw the same karmic connection on George's face, she knew she got it right.
Shannon knew as much as the Jensens did regarding the Grays.
The thing was, that incident had taken place an extremely long time ago. Shannon didn't have evidence on Rachel, who had forced her to face the calamity in her stead. It wasn't exactly realistic for Shannon to sue the Grays and make them pay the price.
That was why Shannon didn't plan on doing that from the start. But what she didn't expect was that George would carry out this plan for her sake.
When George heard the words "12th house", he felt somewhat mystified because of how ridiculous it sounded. But this time, he didn't take Shannon's words as nonsensical gibberish.
"That time, you brought up the Grays' purpose at the banquet. I had someone investigate the cause behind your disappearance. It took some time, but I managed to locate a witness despite not being able to find any evidence."
George looked at Shannon as he spoke. Although he still looked as friendly as ever, his words revealed his decisive and brutal side to everyone present.
"Those who dare plot against the Jensens must pay the price, one way or another."
George might be old, but none of his children can ever compare to how brutal he could be.
At first, George didn't intend to escalate the incident due to the Grays' contributions in raising Shannon. But then, he saw the Grays' true nature in the livestream and witnessed their intention to coerce Shannon into yielding to them by bringing up their painstaking efforts to raise Shannon. That was when he decided not to save the Grays' pride at all.
Back then, they let the Grays off the hook out of consideration toward the Grays' contributions in raising Shannon.
Now that the reason behind the Grays' decision to raise Shannon was exposed, the Jensens didn't hold back anymore.
Connor and Rachel were knee-deep in trouble because of the sudden twist of events. Connor even traveled to other cities overnight just to ask the lawyers of those cities to help him out. As such, he didn't have time to deal with the manor's incident.
Nonetheless, the fact that the manor was haunted still stood. The eerie-looking "no" left behind by the female ghost was still scrawled on the wall in bold letters.
Naturally, the household staff in the Gray residence was extremely creeped out. In just two days, all of them resigned and left the manor.
Although it wasn't confirmed if the Grays would sell the manor, it was already reduced to an empty building.
