Priscilla's father and younger brother were fierce. "Hey, back off! Trying to harass a woman while no one was watching? You think I won't call the cops on you?"
The man was startled by their sudden appearance, but he quickly greeted, "I see! It's Mr. and Mrs. Langston…"
"Shut the hell up!"
Priscilla's mother shouted, "So, you're the prick who's been harassing my daughter!"
Priscilla had already felt her nose sting with emotion when her family suddenly showed up. Hearing her mom's words only surprised her even more.
How did she find out? She hadn't told her family about this.
The man's expression stiffened as soon as he heard the word "harass". He refuted, "We're just dating like a normal couple! How is that harassment? Please mind your words, Mrs. Langston."
"Who says we're dating? We're nothing more than just coworkers!" Priscilla shot back, her confidence soaring now that her family was behind her.
The man couldn't believe his ears. "Coworkers? If you didn't have a thing for me, why buy me coffee? Why smile at me?"
Now, that was the drama the audience had been looking forward to ever since they heard Shannon's suggestion. Immediately, the chat went wild.
"Shit. There goes another man who's a total narcissist."
"He's not a narcissist. He's just crazy!"
"That's all she did? I pity women."
Even Priscilla herself didn't expect being harassed over something like this. She was on the verge of losing it.
"I didn't just buy coffee for you alone—I bought it for the whole department! What, am I supposed to cry instead of smile when I say hi to a coworker?"
The man remained in disbelief. "Wasn't that because you were too shy to buy it for me only, so you bought it for everyone instead?
"Even if the whole male population is dead, I still won't let my daughter date someone like you!"
She continued, "Now get lost! Or I'll go to your company and have a word with your superior. While we're at that, I'll visit your family and see what kind of job they did raising a son like you!"
Perhaps her threats hit a nerve, because the man who had just been acting so self-righteous now looked deflated.
He didn't dare argue anymore and meekly apologized to Priscilla, promising he wouldn't message her in private again.
Seeing the man flee, Priscilla finally couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She dove into her mother's arms, sobbing, "Mom…"
Her mother felt a pang in her heart, but still scolded her through gritted teeth, "Alright, alright. This is nothing to cry about. Gosh, you're embarrassing…"
Although she spoke harshly, her hand, holding the phone, gently patted Priscilla's back in a soothing gesture.
The livestream audience felt genuinely moved by the scene, but that didn't stop them from commenting stuff like "Enough, Mrs. Langston. We're getting dizzy from your pats."
