"Shannon, why aren't you interested in the talisman at all?" Olivia noticed Shannon sitting there, looking unbothered while the rest of them had pulled out their talismans.
Shannon said, "Well, you guys have already taken yours out. I don't think I need to do the same."
"You should, though. What if yours is different from ours?"
Shannon remained unmoved. In fact, her tone was matter-of-fact as she said, "I think Mr. Hamilton would've been fair and just when distributing these life-saving satchels to us."
Olivia seemed convinced by her explanation, but Vincent glanced at her almost surreptitiously. Anyone who'd listened to Juniper's praise of Rosalind earlier would've been curious to see the talisman—even his curiosity had been piqued.
Yet Shannon didn't even intend to check her satchel. Either she already knew what was inside or didn't care what was in the satchel. The former meant she expected the talisman, and the latter meant that she was strong enough that the talisman didn't matter to her.
Which was she?
"You seem to know a lot about these things, and you even know physiognomy. Does that mean you can draw talismans, too?" Vincent asked, sounding almost casual.
Shannon glanced at him and said, "Well, I'm about to be admitted to a school of mystic arts, so it's normal for me to know a thing or two about these matters. I only know a little bit about physiognomy, and as for talismans… I've only scraped the surface."
She rubbed her nose a little awkwardly. She'd heard Juniper's words earlier but had been too embarrassed to admit she was actually Rosalind. After all, she'd gone by the name of Rosalind Gray back in the day, so it'd be easier for her to sell her talismans.
Shannon had no intention of revealing her identity. The only thing she hadn't expected was that Juniper would recognize her talismans just by looking at them. It looked like she had to speak to Fred about this later.
As they chatted, Carlos approached them and explained what would happen next. "We initially set aside three days and two nights for the filming here. Now that we've been forced to stop, we've decided to end the filming here today.
"We'll arrange for you to return to the hotel so you can rest. Considering that we might not have enough content for the edit, we might have to add a segment on audience members asking for help tomorrow."
The crew had already opened up avenues for the viewers to ask for help. It was supposed to be part of the content for the second episode, but it wouldn't hurt to bring it forward.
Shannon and the others had no objection. They returned to the city.
