Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 204

When Carlos and the others burst into the mansion, they saw the guests and cameramen who'd spread out to search for Soren and Shannon gathered on the second floor. They were all looking in the same direction and had matching looks of astonishment on their faces.

Carlos pushed his way through the crowd to see Shannon standing where she'd been before the image had disappeared. Before her, Soren lay on the floor, his ashen face filled with terror. He was clutching his throat and gasping for breath.

"H-How is he?" What Carlos actually wanted to ask was whether Soren was still alive.

"Everything's fine now," Juniper said, the emotions in his voice indiscernible. His gaze was fixed on Shannon.

Before they'd arrived—or rather, after Shannon had broken out of the mirror world and brought Soren out—she'd already gotten rid of the five ghosts and the malevolent spirits hiding in the mansion.

Shannon had never intended to allow Soren to die in the hands of those five ghosts. Though it was normal for them to want to go after Soren for taking their lives, they would be creating karmic debts for themselves, even if they were only avenging themselves.

The five young women had been murdered, but they hadn't taken any lives when alive. As long as they were properly guided to the afterworld, they wouldn't have any problems with reincarnation.

But if any of them were to murder Soren, they would have blood on their hands. Not only would they need to be punished for that, but the karmic debt would also affect them in their next lives, even if they were to successfully reincarnate.

The vindication wasn't worth the price—it'd be better to leave Soren to the police. Even if he weren't sentenced to death, he wouldn't have a good time spending the rest of his life in prison. Besides, he would be plagued by karmic debt and the consequences of being possessed by a malevolent spirit.

"What… What exactly has happened here?" Carlos looked at Shannon, still unable to believe the situation. "Is Soren… Is he really…"

Was he really a murderer?

He turned to Shannon, his gaze filled with respect and resignation. On one hand, he respected her for her abilities. On the other hand, he was resigned over the fact that something so major had happened on the first day of filming. He couldn't believe they'd even caught a serial murderer.

After everything that had happened, this was probably the end of "Sixth Sense". It didn't matter that they had Vincent on the show.

Everyone was focused on different things as they waited for the police to arrive. Shannon was the only one who looked calm and composed.

Soon, the police's special task force arrived. The first thing they did was to take Soren, who was still shaken, away. As the person who'd uncovered the truth, Shannon also had to go with them to make a statement.

"We'll have to trouble you to head to the police station with us, Ms. Jensen. We need you to make a statement on the matter." Calvin Faust, the leader of the special task force, couldn't help appraising Shannon as he spoke.
