Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 179

From his previous experiences, Caleb knew better than to voice certain opinions in front of Shannon, especially since she clearly didn't care about what he said. However, he still felt the need to vent.

Cecily would listen to his rants quietly.

She said, "Shannon has always had her own ways and ideas. Besides, if the family isn't against her doing this, as her cousin, you shouldn't criticize her. Don't say these things in front of her. It might hurt her feelings."

Caleb scoffed inwardly. Shannon wouldn't feel hurt—she could handle herself just fine. His eyes were full of disdain for Shannon, but his attitude was gentle whenever he faced Cecily.

"Don't worry. I won't say these things in front of her," Caleb replied.

Ever since that week of "total silence" in front of Shannon, Hank had learned his lesson and refrained from speaking out his dissatisfactions in front of her. Even Hank had wisened up, so of course, Caleb wouldn't get himself into trouble foolishly.

Cecily smiled at him and then lamented, "It's normal for young girls to have dreams of becoming celebrities, but at our age, we shouldn't chase after such vain things. It's surprising, considering that Shannon has such good grades. I feel like letting her participate in a variety show will ruin her."

"If she wants to do it, who can stop her?" Caleb responded irritably.

Cecily sighed. "Don't say that. She's still our family. We can't just watch her go astray and do nothing."

With this goal in mind, she joined the set of "Sixth Sense". She never expected to stumble upon a different kind of surprise on the first day itself.

Upon arriving at the set, she saw an acquaintance she hadn't been expecting. Well, that person wasn't quite an acquaintance. Nonetheless, Shannon recognized her—it was Cassie, Clara's younger stepsister.

Though she had only met her once, she couldn't miss the familiar color of bad love luck surrounding Cassie. This time, however, her color was different from the time when Shannon saw it at the teacher appreciation dinner. It carried a deep red, almost blood-like tint.

It was ominous—it meant that she would die soon.
